A $10 router??? Would you trust a $10 router?

I use routers that I know will work, most run around $75 to $100, all I was doing was showing that a PC can be used as a router with the right software.(and a little hardware)

i only use 10 dls routers "netgear brand" factory refurbished
also server printers around same price have sold hundreds for many years none have failed they all working still today

Buying used or re-furbished is buying someone else's problem in my opinion, it had to have a problem in the first place otherwise why did it have to be re-furbished and why would someone sell a good working router if it didn't do the job they were looking to do.

But buy what you will, I always by new.

But this is not the place to argue about routers, lets answer/fix stanlessteels question.

I disagree most refurbs of routers are becaue of consumers who can't figure out how to setup a network!

OK guys I moved this to a place were we can talk about this without a thread hijack.

If they allowed the return of equipment due to end users stupidity then 3/4 of the stuff sold in the world would be coming back to the manufacture.

When I was a senior manager in manufacturing we had warranty return charts and graphs that had to be shown at every weekly staff meeting, when the returns were up then upper management wanted to know WHY?

If I told them it was due to a stupid end-user it wouldn't fly as a good reason, hardware failure, software problems or manufacturing defect would be the only way to get a refund or exchange, not end-user stupidity.

I'd be chewing out some customer service reps for a stupid end-user return, that's what they are for, to keep the unit in the field not back in the plant.
