I'm assuming you mean a DP44 switch? I don't think the SW44's play nice with DP LNBs.........

The power inserter is required for the powered switches, you'll connect the power inserter to the coax running to port 1 of the switch, but keep in mind that you can't connect an FTA receiver to the power inserter. The power supplies in FTA receivers aren't designed to work properly with the DN power inserter, but a subscription receiver (Including later Bell TV receivers) can be connected to this port with no issues. If you connect an FTA receiver to the power inserter, you're risking damage to the switch, receiver, and/or power inserter.

Which switch do you and what type of LNBs do you have?

Do you have the DPP44 switch or the SW44 switch?

Do you have DP LNBs or Legacy/Standard LNBs?

The SW44 switch is used for 2 legacy LNB's to 4 recivers, you need the power inserter to run it correctly.

If you have DPP LNB(s) then you need the DP44 switch and power inserter to run more then 2 receivers.

A single DPP LNB will run 2 receivers just fine, but if you add a second DPP LNB you will need a switch.
