What size dish are you using for 118.7?

It's a linear bird and needs a bigger dish then the others.

I don't have the ultra myself, just the BD usb. I can use it to find 118.7 if the dish is a 500+ or 1000+, but if it is another type of lnb I've never had any luck using the birdog to find the satellite, have to use a fta receiver to peak out the signal.

Do you have the circular linear LNB for 118.8 that is required!

Just reread the original post. Not sure if OP is having trouble finding the satellite itself with the birdog, or finding 118.7 in the config files to load the meter. If the problem is the latter then it is labelled: BR Dish500+ 118.7West (10.75GHz).

On the above webpage download file labeled "DishNetWork" which contain only the following Satellite files:

BL Dishnetwork 61.5W
BR Dishnetwork 72.7W
BL Dishnetwork 77W
SuperDish 105W
DishPro 110W
DishPro 119W
BR Dishnetwork 129W
BR Dish500+ 118.7W (10.75GHz)
BR DishNetwork 110W
BL DishNetWork 119W
SuperDish 121W
BR DishNetwork 148W

From there you will to load this config file to your Birdog.

Ok when i set my ultra to DN500+118 I find the bird with no problems but when i set it at DN 118.8 I spent 3 hours with no luck.
My question is 118.8 and DN500+118 is the same or not and if i use 500+ option will i still get the channels from 118.8

thank you

I could not see 110/119 (neighbors) using their BL/BR 110/119 file. I had to use the Dishpro file in order to see 110/119.

If I get a chance I will try on my motorize TFTA dish and see if I can see them but they are not on my sat list as of now.

Did you check and see if this file lowered your lnb setting to 10750?

Just to be clear, 118 is not linear. It is a circular polarity satellite in the linear frequency range. If you are getting good quality on 119, you are already pointed at 118. Unless you just want to play with the meter. :)

BR DISH500+ 118
CH ANIK F3 118.8

These are the option i have on my birdog Ultra, are they the same or difrent and what dose it (CH & BR) means. I want to point at 118.8 with a 10750 lofreq lnb

thanks

I think the CH means Cband/Horizontal. BR is right hand polarization, or vertical (I think).
