I'm in need of a vehicle to drive to a new part-time job. Sounds goofy, but all I can find is part-time. Can't hardly be driving my 87 F150 4x4 at 10 mpg for a part time gig.

Since I'm 6'2" I don't hardly fit in these little 4 cyl rigs. Head hits the ceiling. Started out looking at a s10 or ranger. These people around here want the same price as a full size truck of same year, same mileage.:Idontgetit:

So, I started looking at v6 monte carlos and the like. Kept seeing camaros, so I started checking them out. Do the 96-2000 v6 camaros really get 28 on the highway like they say? I would be ok with around 25mpg. I don't really need a sporty rig, but the camaro does have the leg room and my head don't hit the ceiling. Any input on them?

I have a 2005 Chevy Impala, I'm 6'5" and it fits great, lots of leg room, and I get 28 MPG, less when I get crazy on the mountain roads, drives like a dream.

well other than getting into a VW Jetta TDI diesel I'd go for a second-hand one that gets 52 mpg, once in their oak there's lots of room, you could carry 3 body's in the trunk lol

I have a old 98 Buick LeSabre which gets about 30 mpg...For that reason I drive it everywhere. I know you can fit, a friend of mine is 6'3" & he gets in ok.

Cars in Missouri are high...Check out craigslist if you go down the path of a used one

Just a heads up. Those Sprinter vans get around 25-30 & they are diesel, or you could put a 4bt Cummins in your F150 & get about 25-30

Don't waste your money on a compact pickup, the V6 models get the same mileage than a full size truck, with far less capability. They're hard to find with any decent options as well, seems like most...

Ended up with a '96 Rally Sport Camaro v6 with 142K miles for $2K from Craigslist. Pretty slick lil car. Helluva lot cheaper than everything in that year range I looked at and with a whole lot less miles. So far, so good on the fuel gauge.

Sounds good, good price too... How many miles are on it? If it's got the 3.8L engine, the problems with the intake manifold and gaskets also apply to the F-bodies, I'm pretty sure. Keep an eye on the coolant level, and if the factory installed dex-cool coolant hasn't been changed, do a proper coolant flush. That stuff starts to sludge up when it gets old/exposed to air.

Have 02 and get 50 mpg. I have a lead foot though. The added mpg far out weights the extra cost of diesel.

That happened to me twice on my Buick...
A good recommendation, like you say is to get rid of the dexcool
