.....please dont think of this as spoonfeeding, as ive been reading alot, I just would like to hear your opinion.
Looks like im going to do a new 3 stb setup from scratch with a motor (which ive never done) and a bigger dish then ive ever done before for someone. The dish needs to be 30' or bigger (thinkin 33'). Lookin to hit everything from roughly 82-129.
What would you buy in terms of dish, lnb and switch?
Thanks for your feedback.

Motor systems should only be used with a single stb. You can't have three stbs sending conflicting signals to a motor.

stman is correct about not using all 3 stb's on the motorized setup, but what you could do is this:
Get a 36'' Winegard dish with an sg2100 motor and an Invacom dual quad lnb ( has both linear and circular feeds ) for your "main" setup (living room)
then get a stationery dish (DP) for the other 2 boxes for the main birds you want to use the most..
this is the most common setup for this situation ..

The only Ku satellite position that the Invacom will not fully support is 118W because it is low frequency circular. However, with a 36"-39" dish you would also get a nice assortment of true FTA satellites if you have a clear view of the sky.
I have ran two receivers off one dish, but I used an A/B switch...
Also I made sure to power off the receiver I was not going to be using before I used the other.
Now anymore I just slave a receiver.

Kill 2 birds at once with 2 LNBs (ala D500)
positioned at 9 degrees difference
good for 82+91 and 110+119

Thanks alot ev1 for your input, much appreciated.
Things have changed since the original post. With the budget i was given, and the desired setup (82, 91, 110, 119, 129 with 3 stb's on one LCD) sacrifices have been made. Looks like the motor (for now) has been eliminated from the equation and I thought i could eliminate the Invacom lnb.
I have a bunch of standard DaveTV SF2-D3 (ver. 1) lnb's and was able to dig up a 39' *choice dish and the plan is to use it for 129 only.
Since i have no experience with a dish of this type, i wanted to do a little prep work (research) just to make sure everything goes as smooth as possible and I dont look like I have no idea what im doing...haha
So i came across the following thread....***The dish shown in this thread is identical to the one I will be working with, the dish-arm, lnb bracket, everything. Identical****
http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php?72664-41-quot-x-40-quot-Star-Choice-Dish-is-it-good-for-110-119-129&highlight=starchoice+dish
.... I had offered to donate a couple of these DaveTV lnbs since i have a bunch, however, im now thinkin that one these lnb's will not work on the 39' dish for 129. Is my thought process correct? That thread talked about modding the dish-arm and i have no desire to go down that path.
So, if my thinking is correct, and I will not be able to lock onto 129 with my standard lnb's, will the QPH-031lnb be all i need to guarentee a bird lock? Do you think I will need anything else?
If not, and the Invacom will catch it when the SF2-D3 will not.....then for my own personally benefit, I have to ask, whats the difference between them? I know the Invacom is a C/L lnb when the standard is C, but since 129 is C, why wouldnt the standard lnb work? Is it due to the way they sit in the bracket? They are much different than the elip. lnb brackets.
Again, thanks ev1.
That 39" dish & a QPH-031 will do great for 129...
A question I have is; Why buy the QPH-031 & not a motor? There are other cheaper LNBF's that will do the same

The 39" dish, Invacom LNB and motor is exactly the setup that I have and it works great from 129W to 61.5W and all the satellites in between. (except for 118)
No need for anything else, unless your impatient and cant wait for the motor to change between the satellites, then you could use a second dish with a DP twin on it and set it on your favorite set of satellites. (110/119 or 82/91)
And the QPH-031 is over kill for just 129W, (in my opinion) you can use (or should use) a single DP LNB (or other circular LNB) on that bird, with the 39" dish it will work fine for 129W.

Thanks ev1, got it setup today.
Of course, today, the day i had set aside to do this it was raining all day, which made it misersable but its all done now. Have to tweak the dish's alignments later on a clear day but thats about it.
The standard lnb works fine on that 39' *choice dish. With no mods required at all for 129w. I figured it should work but after reading that thread, it spooked me alittle :tehe:
It will be the last time I assemble a 39' dish by myself, on a roof, in the pouring rain. Never again  It will just have to wait next time.

On a fixed dish you use one LNB
either KU Lineal or KU Circular
On a motorized dish,
and willing to get both KU/CP and KU/LP,
then the QPH-031 combo LNB fit the job
IF must of the time you will be pointing
onto 82/91 or 110/119 ... then go for a Dish.500
in this scenario ... mount an LNB KU Lineal on dish+motor
you will have more fun for the buck

but most people in the USA cant hit 82W, now that the beam has been tightened. however 91 any place in the USA can hit
