Bob Arum doesn't see megafight
By Arash Markazi
ESPNLosAngeles.com
HOLLYWOOD, Calif -- Don't hold your breath for that Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather megafight. As far as Top Rank CEO Bob Arum is concerned it's never happening.
"That fight will never, ever happen," Arum said. "Ever, ever happen because of Mayweather.
"When Mayweather talks about how he hates Top Rank he's talking bulls---. What Mayweather hates is Manny's right hand. Mayweather has no chin and Manny will knock him out. Pacquiao and Mayweather is a three or four-round fight. Period. And who knows that best? Mayweather. The one thing Mayweather has had throughout his career is he knows boxing. He understands boxing and Mayweather can not compete with Manny. It's the right hand of Manny that is preventing that fight from happening. If Manny agreed just to jab with the right hand the fight would be made in 30 seconds."
Pacquiao's promoter made the comments before Pacquiao's media day workout leading up to his Nov. 12 fight against Juan Manuel Marquez.
"Once Manny demonstrated that fearsome right hand there was no chance ever that the fight would happen," Arum said. "None. Don't kid yourself. I know Mayweather, everything else is bulls---."
When Pacquaio was asked about the megafight he smiled, shrugged his shoulders and answered the same way he normally does.
"I don't know," he said. "Maybe the promoters can not afford him. I think that's the reason. The promoters cannot afford him. What he's asking is hard."
Arum also said Mayweather tarnished boxing and cheated the fans with the way he beat Victor Ortiz last month.
"Mayweather demonstrated a complete lack of sportsmanship and the public that paid for that was cheated," Arum said. "I don't care about the baloney about protect yourself at all times and its a legal shot. That's not the issue. The fighter has the obligation to entertain the public and hitting this kid with two cheap shots really put a damper on boxing. For me, f--- the legacy, he cheated the public."

Arum is pissed, he has to pay PBF to much money for that fight. That will make his payday less bulky and he hates that. Now imagine if things happen all the way around and Floyd knocks out Pacquiao. It's not about Floyd's chin, is about getting to his chin. It is there where the problem lies.

Thats because he rolls over on left and right raises the shoulders and avoids the shots..But with a an angry fighter that likes to throw and find his way in PBF could meet his maker..Hopefully Mayweather gets tired of beating up chumps for the dough soon and fights a decent opponent.Until then we will not no for sure if he is the best or just another loud mouth//

This is just a ploy by Arum to piss Floyd off and get him in the ring.... Arum knows interest is waning for this matchup.... he just
trying to stir the pot...
Wants to have the fight before he croaks...

Cowardice Killed The Pacquiao-Mayweather Superfight
October 27th, 2011
By Scoop Malinowski
Few things are impossible in this world but one thing is for certain: Making the biggest fight in boxing history between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao is an impossible task. Floyd Mayweather is never going to fight Manny Pacquiao because he knows he will be destroyed.
Now is the time when Mayweather and his team of Al Haymon and Richard Schaefer should be taking actions to produce the fight with HBO and Bob Arum but no discussions are taking place. Haymon and Schaefer don’t even try to bother with faking any negotiations anymore, like they did with Ross Greenburg.
No serious, authentic discussions will ever take place because Haymon and Schaefer know the truth. Their inferior man isn’t up to the massive job.
Mayweather is only interested in fights he knows he will win, not entering into his own sacrificial slaughterhouse against an Asian dynamo which would make him look like an old, slow, broken-down, glass-jawed chump getting his long overdue comeuppance.
There are many protectors of Mayweather who have an agenda to propagate the fraud that is his choreographed career. Al Haymon fancies himself as a powerbroker and starmaker in the sport. His ego is about as big as Mayweather’s. Haymon suffered enormously when he watched his other four products smashed to bits – Paul Williams, Danny Jacobs, Andre Berto and Chris Arreola. Of course, Haymon’s primary and favored asset is Mayweather and it would be beyond devastating agony for Haymon to have to sit and watch Mayweather be beaten up and knocked out by Pacquiao with about 50,000 screaming, celebrating boxing fans. Haymon losing Mayweather as the star piece of his portfolio would completely destroy his elite status in the sport. And sacrificing Mayweather to Pacquiao is something Haymon will never let happen, just exactly like he was able to save Mayweather from certain defeats to Antonio Margarito and Miguel Cotto — by manipulating the powers that be at HBO.
HBO could actually take the position of a hardline stance against Mayweather and Haymon but curiously they do not, whether it’s due to ineptitude, impotence or other mysterious reasons. One would think HBO would do all in it’s vast power to force Mayweather to fight Pacquiao, but this has not happened. Nor does it appear likely, after Bob Arum’s recent quotes this week saying Mayweather will never fight Pacquiao. Arum knows what’s up.
There are many other less powerful individuals and boxing figures involved in the conspiracy of protecting the fraud of Mayweather and they too play a part in the overall scheme to cancel the biggest event in the history of the sport.
But the number one, overriding reason why the fight won’t happen is because of Floyd Mayweather’s uncontrollable fear and lack of self-confidence to test his overrated and declining skills against the Filippino Destroyer. It’s obvious by now that the coddled and protected Mayweather is so profoundly scared of Manny Pacquiao that there is no amount of gold that could lure him to face his imminent destruction. $100 or $150 million would not be enough when your physical well-being and future health are in jeopardy, as Mayweather himself has actually partially admitted on occasion. And believe it, Mayweather’s health would be in danger vs. Pacquiao. Pacquiao’s blazing speed and relentless pressure are far beyond anything Mayweather has ever experienced or seen. Mayweather was intimidated and scared of the relentless pressure that Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito would have put on him, and Pacquiao is far superior to those two warriors, as we have witnessed.
With his lightning fast footwork and blinding, furious, devastating combinations, Pacquiao would eat Floyd alive and administer a frightful beating on the cowardly American fraud. Mayweather’s whole entire WWE fake persona would transform in the matter of one fateful hour of destiny. The humble man would be exalted – and the most arrogant, self-exalted jackass in the history of the sport would be thoroughly and completely humbled in the matter of a few brutally, vicious, unforgettable, awe-inspiring minutes. Nothing would be able to repair the ego and persona of the greatest coward fraud in boxing history, Floyd Mayweather, who would never fully recover.
So if you ever wonder what really caused the biggest event in boxing history to go down the drain, remember, it wasn’t those airplanes that killed King Kong…it was beauty that killed the beast.
And it wasn’t drug testing or Top Rank or “Manny’s got to get his house in order” that killed the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight…it was the uncontrollable fright and paralyzing fear by the world’s greatest coward which killed the superfight of all superfights.

Boxing Experts Pick Mayweather Jr. Over Pacquiao
http://www.opposingviews.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/top_of_piece_275x200/attachments/0009/9666/manny-floyd.jpg Submitted by Ian Palmer on Oct 21, 2010
The world is aching to see a boxing showdown between Manny Pacquiao (51-3-2, 38 KOs) of the Philippines and American Floyd Mayweather Jr. (41-0, 25 KOs), the top two pound-for-pound-fighters on the planet. But there’s a chance it’ll never happen, especially with Mayweather facing a possible prison sentence.
But if it did come off, it’d be one of the biggest fights in boxing history -- if not the biggest from a financial standpoint. Just the mention of these two stepping into the ring against each other is enough to ignite thousands of heated debates around the globe. Everybody has an opinion on the outcome of this fantasy fight, but let’s see what some of the experts have to say about it.
Most credible boxing Web sites consist of excellent writers and analysts, and the majority of them agree Mayweather would come out on top. BoxingNewsworld.com polled 25 of the top boxing writers, including scribes from Ring magazine, Doghouse boxing, Eastside Boxing, Fight Beat, Boxing Scene, Ringside Report, and Boxing Talk. Surprisingly, a whopping 23 of the 25 thought Mayweather would win, with just two backing Pacquiao.
But examiner.com’s Brad Cooney leans towards Pacquiao and said he thinks the Filipino would knock Mayweather out. “Pacquiao’s speed is ridiculous, and he is a two handed punching machine. Pacquiao’s punches have very bad intentions, and he throws a lot of them. Fighting Pacquiao is like someone throwing 30 running chainsaws at you at the same time.”
While these writers are well respected, they aren’t in the ring everyday and don’t live and breathe the sport 24 hours a day. Let’s take a look at the opinions of those who are considered "insiders." Trainers Joe Goossen, Ronnie Shields, Buddy McGirt, Robet Garcia, and Yoel Judah all had interesting opinions.
Goossen said Mayweather wants nothing to do with Pacquiao because the WBO welterweight champion gives him the willies. He added that Mayweather doesn’t like fighting southpaws, Pacquiao is hard to discourage and he doesn’t stop punching.
Shields thinks Mayweather’s too good defensively, but it’d be a close fight with Pacquiao the aggressor and Mayweather landing the harder and cleaner shots. He sees Mayweather blocking and countering and doing enough to win.
McGirt agreed with the choice, but said Mayweather would have to punch at the same time as Pacquiao instead of waiting. “I just think Floyd is better. And he’s very fast. You don’t know how fast until you’re in the opposite corner. His speed is unbelievable. I think Pacquiao would run into counters.”
Garcia evened the score when he predicted Pacquiao would win because of the sheer volume of punches he throws, but said he wouldn’t knock Mayweather out. “Mayweather doesn’t throw that many punches. I think there’ll be times he’ll take the combinations and not throw anything back. That should give Pacquiao the rounds.”
Judah broke the deadlock when he said Pacquiao would destroy Mayweather. “He’s too busy for Floyd. Floyd is a slick fighter, smart and everything. But I think Pacquiao is too busy. He’s too busy. Too busy.”
British boxing promoter Frank Warren picked Mayweather. "I think Mayweather is a natural counter puncher, although Pacquiao is a tremendous puncher, very fast, but…he can be hit. If I was a bookmaker, I would make Mayweather the favorite. HBO boxing analyst Larry Merchant agreed and said Mayweather sould be the favourite by odds of about 7/5 or 8/5.
They’re all good and valued opinions, but let’s hear from some boxers themselves, especially those who have been in the ring with either Pacquiao or Mayweather or both of them.
Middleweight prospect Richard Pierson (9-2, 6 KOs) said the only way Mayweather wins is if he trains harder than ever, and if Pacquiao breaks both his hands before the fight. He predicted a Pacquiao knockout.
Super bantamweight Israel Vazquez (44-5, 32 KOs) went with Mayweather because of the weight difference. He said Pacquiao throws more punches, but Mayweather has better abilities.
Jr. middleweight Ishe Smith (21-9, 5 KOs) said Pacquiao would fold like Mosley did against Mayweather.
Jr. welterweight Zab Judah (39-6, 27 KOs), who lost a unanimous decision to Mayweather in 2006, said, “I think Floyd will win. I think a lot of the shots that Pacquiao is gonna throw at him is not gonna hit him. Floyd is an expert at counter punches.”
Lightweight Juan Manuel Marquez (51-5-1, 37 KOs), who lost a unanimous decision to Mayweather last year and fought to a draw and a split-decision loss to Pacquiao, believes Mayweather’s smarter and faster. He said, "He has the great defense. He can move, move, move. Pacquiao has the power, but Mayweather has the intelligence, the speed and the counter punches."
Another expert opinion belongs to British boxer Ricky Hatton (45-2, 32 KOs), who was stopped by both Pacquiao and Mayweather. He backed Mayweather by saying “Mayweather is so good he doesn’t let you get any punches off. If he makes Pacquiao miss he’ll take the sting out of him.” However, he added, “I’d rather watch Pacquiao though. Mayweather will go down as one of the all time greats but I wouldn’t get up at four o’clock in the morning to watch him. He bores the sh*t out of me.”
Overall, it looks like Mayweather would be favored by most of these experts. Hopefully we’ll get the chance to see who was right and wrong in the near future.
