desktop icons wont work

ok guys, my desktop on my laptop is acting strange. the recycling bin stays highlited and is the only icon that will work. i cant even drag any icons around. i tried deleting the recycling bin but it wont even do that. im running windows 7. any ideas?

It looks like the user account might have gone corrupt.

yeah yeah, it says vista but good with win7

how many gigs of memory installed on your laptop? :noidea: not sure if taking out the battery will work

My next suggestion was to load Win98, nevermind. :)

I have an original Win 95 and/or Win 2.1 if that will help...
