hi all, could a dtv lnb work on a fta box.. i took of my linear and try to get a bird
but i am only getting 99% and its not locking onto any birds
just for experiment ..

fta is what these satellite receivers are originally made for........

A conax duo can be used for true fta but your lnb must be linear, only providers and a handful of eastern sats use circular polarity.

Starmike, I thought we had gone through all the true FTA info before. At around 11 degrees north of the equator, there isn't much you can get with the dtv lnb and the size dish you have.

fta is what these satellite receivers are originally made for........
not necessarily,mine has a slot for oddball cards used in europe.

Yes, but just to be clear and not confuse anyone, not all providers allow use of other stbs with their services and there has to be software to support it. Also some receivers have card slots but no actual reader inside to make use of it. :)
