With November 11 fast approaching I don’t want to miss this posting.
I want to wish a happy Veterans day to all my fellow veterans here in the USA.
Also a happy Remembrance Day to all the Canadian veterans.
I served in the USMC for more than a few years and never regretted it.
A special thank you to those still serving. To those in a “war area”, stay safe and come home soon.

We have many friends and family serving or have served ...My wife even did her 4 years with the army .....
A Soldier
He is that fallen lance that lies as hurled,
That lies unlifted now, come dew, come rust,
But still lies pointed as it plowed the dust.
If we who sight along it round the world,
See nothing worthy to have been its mark,
It is because like men we look too near,
Forgetting that as fitted to the sphere,
Our missiles always make too short an arc.
They fall, they rip the grass, they intersect
The curve of earth, and striking, break their own;
They make us cringe for metal-point on stone.
But this we know, the obstacle that checked
And tripped the body, shot the spirit on
Further than target ever showed or shone.

An important day to remember and thank those who have put their lives on the line to preserve our freedoms. Among the many others, I'll be thinking about my cousin who is currently in Afghanistan.

Take a second out of our hectic lives and remember to say a little thank you to a vet today--they aren`t hard to find. They were there when we needed them most, a little effort on our part will go a long way in saying....we care, we appreciate and we remember.

today being 11/11/11 let us pray for those who sacrificed their lives in all wars, let us remember them, and not forget what we have today, wear your poppy with pride, and if you see a vet, stop and shake their hand and thank them, it is not much, a simple thank you means a lot.................."Lest We Forget"

We Can’t Forget.
It’s that time of year again, when we gather at the mall
We all march proudly, beside the veterans, who gave their all
Now they have grown old, and in their twilight years
In days long gone by, they fought with no fears.
We wear our blood red poppies, and wear them with pride
Their valor we will never forget, for them we abide
Give praise to those who gave us freedom, for that we enjoy
Never forget, that man, that woman, and the young boy.
Many years have gone by, from the great wars they fought
They came from all walks of life, their courage they brought
From First nations villages, they left their loved ones dear
Fought alongside their brothers, with no fear
Those brave men and women, from all walks of life
By land, Sea, and Air. They took it in stride
Let us remember those who fell, and those who gave their lives
Their names etched in stone, memorized with great pride
So this November the 11th, please pause for a moment or two
Remember those men and women, they gave freedom to me and you
And give praise to those who are still with us, this Remembrance day
Give them peace and tranquility, for this we all pray.

On this day, my thoughts go out to not only all the lost loved ones but to all the loved ones in the field.
A special thanks to both.
None shall be forgotten.

I always recited " In Flanders Fields " to my dad on Remembrance Day
Although he is not with me now, it is part of my traditions
Honoring my dad and all the fallen soldiers who gave their lives for us

I dont think it's appropriate at all.
You turn a rememberence of those that died for us into sex?
There's a time and a place for such but in a memorial thread????
