Oscar De la Hoya: Pacquiao on a different level

– Boxing legend Oscar de la Hoya believes Juan Manuel Marquez will have a hard time against Manny Pacquiao, saying that the Filipino champion’s boxing skills are now in a whole different level now.

De la Hoya, who visited Pacquiao at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, California, said the Filipino boxing superstar has fought quality opponents.

"It's a whole different level because Manny's been beating guys who are maybe superstars. Guys like [Miguel] Cotto, guys like myself, guys like [Shane] Mosley,” said De la Hoya.

Marquez’s opponents, in comparison, looked like regular boxers, said De la Hoya.

“Marquez has been beating guys that are just ordinary," he said.
De la Hoya fought but lost to Pacquiao in 2008.

His corner decided to throw in the towel after being dominated by the fleet-footed Filipino in 8 rounds.

He is now a full-time boxing promoter and is the head of Golden Boy Promotions (GBP).

Pacquiao is set to battle Marquez for the third time on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

At stake is Pacquiao’s WBO welterweight title.

Oscar was beaten by Tito Trinidad when he was a boxer, after that he was just another millionaire junky. When he fought Manny he could not beat anyone. Now he's doing what he knows best @ss kissing. Why? Well he wants to settle the judicial problems with Pacquiao. Marquez said I'm gone KO Manny, that's the only way I can win. He's got 39 KOs to Manny's 38,so don't count the Mexican out.

de la hoya is right, should be an easy fight for manny. manny is at a very different and much higher level than marquez. honestly, who couldn't manny beat now?

one exception though. manny seems to have lost a little of his killer instinct. he could have taken out margarito, but didn't. i don't think he'll knock out marquez, because he's actually worried about hurting his opponents now. marquez will try to knock out manny, but won't have any luck, unless he gets very luckly.

can't wait to see this fight. should be a good night for manny and manny others, like me. haha

My confidence comes from watching over and over again the previous two fights between them. Marquez clearly beat Manny on both, he got his numbers. True that Ariza took care of Manny's physique and we all know how, but Memo is taking care of Marquez for this one and the element of surprise may play a big difference on the outcome. Like the Chapulin Colorado used to say.."No contaban con mi astucia" I will take your buks in the Mayweather/ Pacman fight, all of it..........

De La Hoya hid marriage, 'lied' about wife during kinky sex romp By EMILY SMITH

Oscar De La Hoya hid his wedding ring during a kinky sex bender at Manhattan’s Ritz Carlton -- although he gushed to his blond-bombshell date that she “reminded him of his wife,” the woman told The Post yesterday.
The cross-dressing ex-champ has been married for 10 years to former Puerto Rican pop star Millie Corretjer, but kept that a secret from sexy model Angelica Marie Cecora, 25, when she arrived at his Central Park South hotel on March 15.

“He wasn’t wearing a wedding ring at all that night. He had no ring on when I arrived at his room,” said Cecora, who is suing the pervy pugilist for assault and unlawful imprisonment.

KNOCKOUT: Angelica Marie Cecora (above, yesterday), 25, is suing boxer Oscar De La Hoya, accusing him of assault and unlawful imprisonment after a bizarre sex romp at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in the spring.

“He first mentioned his wife right after we first had sex. He never mentioned his kids. He never put his wedding ring back on.
“I never knew the status of his marriage, if they were still together or not. He certainly asked for things during sex that you wouldn’t expect from a married man.”
Even though De La Hoya’s wife is a brunette from Puerto Rico, he oddly told Cecora he married “the first all-American blonde he could find when he came to the country.”
“He said he likes the all-American blonde.”
Cecora also said De La Hoya “talked about his family,” but “said every time they call him, they want something.”
De La Hoya’s alleged cocaine-and-booze-fueled romp is now the subject of a $5 million suit.
Cecora claims he forced himself on her and her Russian roommate, refused to let them leave -- and stiffed them with a $1,500 room-service bill.
The twisted Manhattan sex party was apparently a wake-up call for De La Hoya. About a month later, he entered rehab.
In September, with his wife at his side, De La Hoya said he had turned over a new leaf, admitting he was a cross-dressing, substance-abusing cheater before rehab. He also came clean about a salacious set of photos printed in The Post in 2007 -- of him in fishnet stockings and high heels -- despite initial denials.
De La Hoya was all over Twitter about his change of heart and head.
“Im realizing that life doesn’t have to be so complicated after all,” he tweeted yesterday.
“In another post he wrote: “last night I received my 6 month chip. wow I can’t believe it. How time just passes when your doing the right thing.”
The fighter’s lawyer didn’t immediately return a call for comment.
Cecora’s lawsuit alleges emotional distress, false imprisonment, assault and battery. She never reported the incident to police.

i just don't see how anyone can say marquez won both fights. answer me this questions how many times has manny seen the canvas? last time i counted juan has seen it 4 times. 3 in the first fight and once in the second. but i could be wrong. please tell me i'm wrong so i can better understand your logic.

You just need to know about boxing, visiting the canvas and getting up and beating your opponent in every round after that, is winning the fight. When you don't get up, then you lose. Many hasn't many KOs like this, maybe he has no killer instincts. He's more of a good boy type.

huh what's are you talking about manny has 10+ more fights won by KO than mayweather and some consider him the best of the best. and he only has 1 less KO than juan. so if your saying manny has no killer instinct what would you say juan has?? not too mention manny has fought more quality fighters than juan.
