ERIC YOUNG VS. ROBBIE E FOR THE TV TITLE
Mostly a comedy match, including Young trying to lock up with the ref, several fans in the front row and even SoCal Val. Rob Terry interfered a few times. Young also took off his shorts and then one pair of trunks that looked like he stole Robbie's trunks. Right before the finish, Young did a plancha onto both of them, but as Young was trying to get into the ring, Terry I think was supposed to punch him in the knee. He actually appeared to punch him in the right calf and then Young pinned him. Nobody thought that was the finish, so finish came off flat. Fans liked it for what it was.
HERNANDEZ & ANARQUIA & SARITA VS. JESSE NEAL & SHANNON MOORE & TOXINE FOR TAG TEAM TITLES
The champions retained as Toxine went after Rosita at ringside and Sarita got one of the tag belts and whipped Toxine with it and then pinned her. Match was okay. Action was decent until they tagged the women in for the finish. The women did a few moves but not smoothly.
Austin Aries and Kid Kash vowed they were going to turn this into a handicap match. Aries said it's not because Sorensen is stupid but that they were going to do a 2-on-1.
AUSTIN ARIES VS. KID KASH VS. JESSE SORENSEN FOR THE X TITLE
Most of the match was then double-teaming Sorensen. The match told a good story but the people weren't with it as they have no emotional involvement with Sorensen. Kash in particular beat the hell out of Sorensen with chops so hard that Sorsensen was bleeding from the chest. Aries kept reminding Kash not to score the pin. Kash used the money maker (double arm piledriver) on Sorensen and went for the pin. Aries, who was outside the ring, put Sorensen's leg on the ropes and told the ref. Then Aries got in the ring and while Kash was arguing with the ref, Aries pinned Kash with a schoolboy. During the match Aries and Kash never went at it or really did more than the smallest tease of issues.
ROB VAN DAM VS. CHRISTOPHER DANIELS IN A NO DQ MATCH
Daniels came out and said he wanted a wrestling match, not a brawl or a hardcore match because he's a great wrestler. So Daniels played smarmy technical heel for 10:00. Then Daniels brought in a chair and hit RVD in the gut with it and used a uranage on the chair for a near fall. Daniels then went outside the ring to get a screwdriver and went to use it on RVD. But RVD blocked the screwdriver spot with a chair, then used the Van Daminator and frog splash for the pin. RVD's style doesn't work well now that he's slowed down.
Robbie E & Rob Terry were out. Robbie said he's now the biggest star on TV and that now that he's got the belt, he's going to the clubs because bling equals bitches.
CRIMSON VS. MATT MORGAN
This was another match that probably sounded like a good idea on paper but didn't work in front of the crowd, which didn't care at all. They kicked out of each others' big moves and people didn't care. Fans liked Morgan more than Crimson. Then Morgan asked Crimson to take his best shot. So Crimson threw a haymaker and Morgan sold but then smiled. Then Crimson invited him to do the same thing and Morgan punched Crimson and he smiled. They went back and forth trading one punch after another and the fans didn't care. Then they did the Frye-Takayama spot, and fans didn't care about that either. Finally each threw down ref Brian Stiffler. So it was ruled a double DQ. After not caring, the fans booed the DDQ finish a lot. Then they brought out security to do the usual pull apart brawl but both guys were real tired by this point and it didn't get over either.
BULLY RAY & SCOTT STEINER VS. ABYSS & MR. ANDERSON
So-so match. The most entertaining thing was the crowd cheering Steiner while Steiner would yell at them and flip them off. The finish saw Steiner have Anderson pinned but ref Brian Hebner said that Anderson wasn't the legal man, as Abyss tagged in even though Steiner didn't see it. Abyss then came in and gave Steiner the black hole slam for the pin. After the match they threw Anderson out of the the ring and both picked up Abyss and put him through a table. Abyss then got right up, no-selling the table shot. Steiner disappeared so you had Abyss staring at Ray, who did the big eyed scared spot and rolled out of the ring.
Karen Jarrett, Gail Kim and Madison Rayne were out. Karen said that division is a reflection of her and she doesn't want a skank ho as champion. She said Kim is a role model for women and is a good representative for the company.
VELVET SKY VS. GAIL KIM FOR THE KNOCKOUTS TITLE
Kim won the title when Karen Jarrett distracted the ref and Madison Rayne grabbed Sky's foot and Kim used eat da feet and got the pin. They did a similar spot when Karen distracted the ref and Madison Rayne went to do some kind of a spot which she botched real bad and Sky kicked out of the pin. Crowd wasn't much into it until the false finish in the last minute. Kim's offense ws good but when Sky was on offense it looked bad.
Eric Bischoff yelled at his wife for not using her birth control pills 27 years ago and blamed her for Garrett being born. He said he would take care of Garrett on Thursday. Bully Ray was freaking out to Eric about how they put Abyss through a table and he popped right up so they need some plan. Bischoff said they need to make up with Abyss. Bischoff told Ray that he needs to make up with Abyss. Bischoff agreed they'd both try and find Abyss.
JEFF JARRETT VS. JEFF HARDY
As far as being a match, not much to this. First Hardy hit the twist of fate and pinned Jarrett in six seconds. Then they did a second match which was Jarrett beating down Hardy, but when Jarrett went for the figure four, Hardy pinned him with an inside cradle in a short match. After the match, Jarrett hit Hardy with a chair shot on the ramp. He threw him in the ring and hit him with the stroke. But when Jarrett told Earl Hebner to count even though the match was over, Hardy used a side backslide and Hebner counted three with Jarrett's shoulders down again. After the match, with Hardy backstage, several of the faces congratulated him including A.J. Styles. The story is that Hardy proved himself to Styles, who didn't want him back originally.
BOBBY ROODE VS. A.J. STYLES FOR THE TNA TITLE
Long match. Styles did a lot given how had his ankle was, but no matter what, he wasn't the usual A.J. Styles. This was the best match on the show, but it didn't have much heat. The finish saw Styles finally hit the Pele kick, set up the Styles clash but Roode used a double leg takedown out of the Styles clash and got the pin holding the tights. They tried to replicate an old school regional title match where the heel goes over after a long match. A lot of basic psychology failed on this crowd and really hurt the show.
