I've had a squeaking belt on my '87 F150. Turns out the harmonic balancer is shot. Got a new one and getting ready to replace it. Anyone know what the torque should be on the bolt?

75 to 85 foot lb for 4.9l 75 to 85 ft\lb 5.4l and 75-90 for 5.0l

And if you have never done it before you will have to pin or lock (I use a big screw driver) the starter ring to keep the engine from turning over, as those torque's may/will cause it to turn the crank shaft.

Planning to insert two puller bolts into the balancer and use a bar between them to hold it while tightening the bolt.

That will also do it.

Got it done. Was a much easier job than I thought it would be.
