I decided to enhance my security and use the MAC filtering on my dd-wrt repeater...Once I applied the mac addresses , I lost my IP from the host router, I turned MAC filtering back off and still can't get an IP... Using my Iphone (tethering) right now....... I have rebooted the repeater as well as the host router ( linksys ) and still won't give me an IP from the host router, certainly up to suggestions at this point...

Sounds like you may have exceeded the working memory of your router. Happened to me, except I was assigning ip's to mac addresses. Best to reset it and forget about mac filtering if I'm right. Hopefully you saved your settings first?

Actually, mac addresses are the easiest thing to get anyways. You can simply find exeryones' mac in dd-wrt using wiviz survey, so it won't add much extra security oin a place where others could connect IMHO

Did not mention your router version and if it is a 3rd party software.
Not sure which router you have but there if you browse thru the gui pages you will find a web page with memory/left shown.

Can you connect to your routers home page after the reset?

Sorry about that. See it is DD-WRT.
