THE SPORTS NETWORK

Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Brandon Roy poured in 28 points and dished out eight assists, as the Portland Trail Blazers used a late surge to take down the Miami Heat, 102-95, at American Airlines Arena.

LaMarcus Aldridge added 23 points and eight rebounds for the Blazers, who have won three of their last four games. Andre Miller ended with 17 points while Martell Webster chipped in 15 points for Portland, which made 11-of-19 three- pointers.

"It was a really good win for us. We talked about cleaning up on our execution and doing things that we need to do down the stretch to win games which is get stops, score the ball and execute the play and we did that and got a huge win for us," Portland head coach Nate McMillan said.

Dwyane Wade finished with 28 points and 10 assists for the Heat, who had a two-game win streak snapped to drop to 2-3 on a six-game homestand. Quentin Richardson went a perfect 7-of-7 from beyond the arc on his way to 22 points. Michael Beasley tallied 17 points and eight rebounds for Miami, which made 8- of-16 shots from beyond the arc.

Down 92-89 with three minutes to play in the fourth, Portland claimed victory by scoring 10 consecutive points. Webster and Roy bookended the spurt with three-pointers, the latter making it a 99-92 game with 28.7 seconds to go.

After Richardson made a trey, Portland made three of its final four foul shots to seal the win.

The Heat led 25-21 after 12 minutes of play, but the Blazers took a one-point edge early in the second quarter on a Webster trey.

Miami responded with a 9-2 spurt, which James Jones capped off with a three-pointer for a 34-28 lead with 7:18 left until half. The Heat led for the remainder of the half and took a 48-45 margin into the locker room.

Down 57-51 early in the third, the Blazers went on an 18-2 run to build a 10- point lead. Miller tallied seven points during the stretch that Joel Przybilla ended with a foul shot for a 69-59 margin with 4:16 remaining.

The Heat scored the next 10 points to deadlock the tilt. Aldridge's deuce gave the Blazers a 71-69 edge heading to the fourth.

"They were shot makers tonight. Clearly they came out with sharpness. The shooters were ready. It seems like all them were dialed in right after their tough loss last night at Orlando," Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra said.
