The rules for this season are as follows:

#1 - This year the week will consist of all games, Thursday - Monday Night. The tiebreaker will be the total points scored that week for all games.

#2 - The first mission is to correctly choose the winning team in each game of each week. The person with the most correct winning teams for the week will be the weekly winner.

#3 - NOW, the second mission is to tell us what you think the score of each of weeks games will be. The total score for the weeks games is the tiebreaker for 2009. Does not matter if you pick over or under, whoever picks closet to the actual total points will be the winner. In the event we have multiple winners, then so be it. This is just for fun.

# 4 - The winner of each phase of the season will be determined by the players winning percentage. For the regular season, in order to be considered for the overall season winner, you must have participated in at least 14 weeks of the season.

# 5 - The deadline for bets will be 2 hours prior to the first game of each week, no matter the day or the time of that first game.

# 6 - 'bets' will be placed in a new thread that will be started by Buford or myself weekly. Included in the thread will be an attachment with a spreadsheet to assist you in making your picks.

# 7 - 'bets' can only be placed by ftatalk members.

# 8 - if you know that you're not going to be on-line for a particular week, or have a 'unique' situation, but still want to continue betting, then pm either Buford or myself and we'll work with you. We request that all bets for a particular week stay within that week, but we do understand that sometimes that you won't be able to due to travel plans, etc. We will work with you but PLEASE let us know.

# 9 - We will allow you to edit your picks after they are placed, however any edits must be done prior to the weeks deadline. No changes will be accepted after the deadline has passed. If we deem this rule to being over used, we reservethe right to terminate this rule

# 10 - the "bets" are for fun only. monetary betting is not allowed and will not be tolerated in any way.

the prize: basically just bragging rights. Again this year the weekly winner will have their title changed. In honor of our dear football loving friend "beastt32" that passed on so very prematurely this past year, an example of this years title change is :

If there are any discrepancies or grieveances, they will be settled between Buford, Msav, and Slammer. Their decision is final.

It was sad to see them do that against the Jets. But they are the ones that have to take the heat for those decisions. If i was a season ticket holder, i may be a tad upset. Maybe the team should refund some of the cash paid out by those same season ticket holders.

Well a buddy of mine at work is a season ticket holder (the one I bought seats from to goto the houston game), and I am sure that he was none too happy.

I did not watch the local news here last night to see the reactions from that decision (actually was to POed to even watch the game last night too), but I am sure there will be some on tonights news, as well as the pregame show for tonight.

I can understand pulling the starters for rest, BUT they have had the homefield advantage wrapped up for two weeks now.....why wait till now to pull the starters? The only thing I can think of is Paton Manning wanted to get his 50,000 yards record, but he still could have done that by playing half of a game.

I think the starters will start next weeked, so they can keep their consecutive starts going, but they will probably pull them again.

I think I know already who my pick will be for the IND / BUF game next week.
