A man was in hospital Tuesday evening after being shot several times in a downtown Vancouver Tim Hortons restaurant.
Police said a masked man walked into the restaurant at Howe and Davie streets at about 7:30 p.m. PT and fired multiple shots with a handgun at another man sitting at a table.
"At this early stage, the motive is unknown, but it appears to be a targeted shooting," said Vancouver police Const. Lindsey Houghton.
There were no reports of other injuries, and the gunman fled the scene.
Police received calls about the attack and arrived in the 700 block of Davie Street just before 7:30 p.m. to find a 30-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim had staggered out of the coffee shop, trying to get to a nearby community police station, reports said. Police found him bleeding a short way down the block. He was rushed to hospital, where he was being treated for what police said were non-life-threatening injuries.
No arrests had been made, and witnesses were being questioned at a police station.
