Bell Mobility today announced it would be offering its visual voicemail service on select BlackBerry smartphones. Previously the service was only available for iPhone 3G and 3GS users.

The service lets smartphone users listen to their voice messages in any order, and once received on their handsets; they can access them at any time, even in areas without wireless coverage, such as when you are on an airplanes or subway.

The service automatically synchronizes voice messages on a customer’s BlackBerry with those in their voice mailbox, so if a message is deleted on the phone, the message is also deleted from the voice mailbox.

Visual Voicemail costs $8 per month (you must also subscribe to a basic voicemail plan) and works on both HSPA and EVDO networks and is now available for the following BlackBerry devices: Bold 9700, Tour 9630, Curve 8330, Pearl 8130 and 8830 World Edition. Support for on additional BlackBerry smartphone models is expected in the future.
