Canada defeated the United States 3-2 Saturday at World Junior Hockey Championship in Edmonton to finish the round-robin a perfect 4-0.
Mark Stone scored on the powerplay less than six minutes into the game to put Canada in front. Stone has scored in every game of the tournament thus far and has a total of seven. Johnathan Huberdeau picked up his seventh assist on the play.
Stone then set up Jaden Schwartz for Canada's second goal at the 10:12 mark.
Brett Connolly scored Canada's third goal, shooting on a 2-on-1 break and beating American goaltender Jack Campbell cleanly with four minutes to go in the first period. Connolly has also scored in all four games for Canada in this tournament.
After a scoreless second, Charlie Coyle got the Americans on the board with ten minutes left in the third, beating Scott Wedgewood to cut the Canadian lead to a pair. Then Jason Zucker scored from behind the net with 6:48 to play to make it a one-goal game.
Canada had already clinched top spot in Group B, while the United States will play in the relegation round.
