a 4 x 4 will work but you will need diseqs to each tv.

This will depend on the type of LNB's you are using, DP LNB's can use a 4 in 4 out type of Diseqc switch, some DP + LNB's can only use a DPP 44 switch, as they are sometimes not compatible with some older switches.

If you have standard LNB's the a good Diseqc 4 x 4 switch will work.

Look at this one.

But for 4 satellites your LNB needs to have 1 output, (or a DP dual, has 2 outputs, but you only use 1) and 1 LNB per satellite, all LNB's sholud be the same type and brand, this saves a headache with compatibility issues.

Terryl has it right. You need to identify your LNB types to determine your switching configurations. If you have additional switches, you should list them out too. It may be that we can help you put together your setup with what you already have at hand.

The best solution I have found is a powered EMP 9X4 switch. It's thonly switch I would use.

I suggest the use of multiswitches (24,44,3x5 or 3x8) and disecq switches.

I personally like the DP34 switch, because it is cheap and readily available. It is an excellent switch, very reliable and requires "NO" power source to make it work. It is a very sophisticated switch if you have ever opened one up. The only problem is that then you have to have "ALL" of your LNB's of the DPro Nature. My brother runs this config and it works very well, I believe that particular switch is good for 200 feet. I know for a fact that it works just fine over 1 hundred feet away from your receiver. If you are going to be running your STB that far away from your dishes, I would strongly recommend you "Ground" your switch. It will work a lot better if it is. If you are running a Dish Farm on your roof, I would choose this switch for its reliability and the very low cost. Oh yeah I almost forgot, the DP34 is a weather-tight switch, it is sealed with a big O ring to keep the water and snow out. I know people who have been running these switches outdoors on their roof for almost 10 years now. Here is a link to what one looks like http://www.dishdepot.com/multi_switches.jsp It is only good for 3 LNB's into 4 boxes. However if you buy one of these switches brand new, there will be instructions in the box on how to hook these DP34 switches up in series for an unlimited number of satellites. If that is what you are into. Hope this helps. Here in Canada we can buy the DP34 for $40 bucks cdn, so it is a very inexpensive and very sophisticated switch that is made to be punished outdoors mounted right on the back of your dish. Hope this helps.
