Not my personal story.
Ok, because I'm getting asked what happened, here is the story: Back in 2004, some friends and I were camping on the Selway river in northern Idaho. After camping, we decided to pack up and drive further up the river, and eventually past selway falls. Here is where it happened: Clickie!
There were 3 vehicles and I was the only one who lost it off the road. It had rained all night and the road was neither paved or graveled, so there must have been an inch of slimy mud on the surface.. I was going around the corner too fast and was unable to stop before the embankment. I rolled 4 times into the river with my friend riding shotgun. I suffered a herniated disc in my lower back and he ended up with a broken wrist.
After my friend drove to a phone and called for a tow out of the river, the towtruck showed up an hour later from kooskie, ID. The driver then informed us that he called the cops on his way out of the office and wouldn't be able to do anything until the cop showed up.
3 hours after the tow truck arrived, the cop got there. He cited me for driving too fast and calling the towtruck without first calling the police. Since the cop took so long to arrive, and the tow driver (along with his companion) were charging me $185/hour, it cost me $1650 for the tow. I offered to allow the guy to keep the truck in trade for the fee and he agreed. I miss that truck.
