Not sure who the writer of the above article is but his prognostication on a Rigondeaux-Donaire match is out in left field.
Here is a more credible observer - ANDRE WARD and what he had to say:
In an interview with Examiner.com, Ward complimented Rigondeaux for his sixth-round knockout victory.
"I thought Rigondeaux, he did what he had to do. He saw that Rico was tight, and he didn't want to open up and he basically came in here like he was the champion," he said.
After his victory, Rigondeaux called out Donaire, the No. 4 pound-for-pound boxer in the world.
But Donaire posted on his Twitter account that he did not even watch Rigondeaux's fight, focusing instead on his upcoming match against Wilfredo Vazquez Jr.
Donaire's trainer, Robert Garcia, also said Rigondeaux was not being considered as a future opponent for "The Filipino Flash."
Ward said Donaire is on a different level than most of the fighters that Rigondeaux has faced so far in his short professional career.
"Well, Nonito is clearly a friend of mine, but he’s a beast. When the lights are bright, he shows up. If Nonito Donaire fights Rigondeaux, he’s going to bring it," Ward said.
"He's fast, he's powerful, he does a lot of different stuff. It’s going to be a different fight if Rigondeaux fights Nonito," he added.
