My Sister in law asked if I would clean up her PC so she can give it to her son, the puter is so slow and loaded up with crap so I decided to burn all her music and pics and reformat it, I have done this for her a few times before with no probs but this time for some reason it wont boot to the XP disk, I went into setup and changed the boot sequence and still did not boot from cd, disk is good I explored it and started an install so it seems to be ok, is there any other way to do a format?

Are you saying it does not see the CD drive after post?
So you are not getting "press any key to boot from CD"?

The PC does see the drive but dosent boot the XP disk or ask to boot from disk as it has before.

It is possoble that the boot sector on the cd is bad or the there is a problem with autoload. Check and see if you have the boot partition still present on the hard drive, if it is then restore the factory image using that partition, it will format C: and install windows XP.
