(Reuters) - The New England Patriots got a Super Bowl boost on Thursday as record-setting tight end Rob Gronkowski practiced for the first time since suffering an ankle injury nearly two weeks ago.
Gronkowski had 'limited participation' in Thursday's session according to the official team practice report but his return is a sign that his high ankle injury is improving.
The 22-year-old has not practiced since suffering the injury nearly two weeks ago in the January 22 AFC Championship game.
Gronkowski set National Football League records for a tight end with 1,327 yards receiving and 17 touchdowns this season and is one of quarterback Tom Brady's favorite targets.
The Patriots play the New York Giants in the Super Bowl on February 5 in Indianapolis.'=
