i just bought a hd media player, it plays all files great. problem being it won't play .ts files. It says it will on the packaging. Well i shouldn't say it doesn't as I later found out it does, but it seems to play only none HD movies in .ts format. I have regular .ts movies recorded from my Nanosat and dreamlink to my external hard drive. Regular non HD movies play, however, tried HD movies or shows like Palladia HD channel - concerts, and the media player doesn't seem to recognize, just black screen or just sound. could it be my HDMI has to be more than the 1.3 type HDMI? something like high speed HDMI? anyone no the reason for this?

when you get the files from the stb do you put both of them in to the media player

HD I believe Is m2ts not likely the same format. Similar in that its ts but not the same. Do you have an xbox 360 if so use this media center plays m2ts and ts files very nicely, I will also add that if there dolby digital, ac3 you get some wicked surround sound.

moneybags what do you mean both files?

the HD recording I did does not list it as a m2ts file. It lists it as a .TS file?

From what I read is shouldn't be a problem, I always convert my recordings to mkv and remove the commercials.

I'm gonna record something on my box and play it on my wdtv and see if that will play it.

Edit: I recorded video using my nfusion hd and it played back no problem on my wdtv box.

could it be that the program I recorded are music concerts, and the hd media player may identify it as music not a movie at gets confused somehow? Mafiaboy as well what is MKV?

Mkv is just a container that holds a video and audio in one file.

When you record on your reciever it records to .ts with is another container

The actual video is avc, and audio is ac3.

What are you recording to, USB drive, hard drive?
