Floyd Mayweather Continues Attacks On Asians, Jeremy Lin

February 14th, 2012

By Scoop Malinowski

Oscar De La Hoya called Floyd Mayweather “a spoiled brat” in the leadup of their world title fight five years ago. Those words may have been the truest ever spoken about Mayweather by any important figure in the boxing industry.

Last week, Mayweather, now 35, has continued to show his immature, spoiled brat behavior by criticizing new NBA sensation Jeremy Lin of the New York Knicks who has emerged from obscurity to become a sudden, overnight star.

Mayweather tweeted: “Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he’s Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don’t get the same praise.”

Don’t forget, Mayweather’s racist video rant against Manny Pacquiao and all Asians, and his absurd claims that the UFC was started to give white fighters a sport to dominate because white fighters were so inadequate in pro boxing, though the stupitidy of Mayweather ignored the total domination by the Klitschkos in the heavyweight division.

Mayweather, showing his jealous tendencies like a childish spoiled brat, isn’t happy with the outstanding successes by the against-all-odds, underdog newcomer Lin has achieved for the Knicks. Lin, who was a complete unknown just months ago, like a Rocky Balboa, has taken the NBA by storm and jumped right in and lead the Knicks to an exciting winning streak, while it’s two high paid superstars Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudamire have been out of the lineup. It’s one of the big stories in all of American sports right now, everybody is talking about this new whiz kid on the block Jeremy Lin.

Mayweather, the jealous and envious person that he is, isn’t happy about the colors of Lin’s excitement show. Mayweather thinks the Harvard alum is getting too much undeserved credit from fans and the media because of his ethnicity.

Instead of being happy and enjoying the excitement Lin is bringing to sports and the NBA, like all other sporting fans, Mayweather would rather sports fans ignore Lin and heap more praise on black NBA players.

It’s just more embarrassing, illogical nonsense from the woman-beating, convicted criminal, boxing shame Floyd Mayweather Jr.

You have to wonder, just how much longer will the American boxing powers-that-be continue to keep this dishonorable fraud in his high position as the face of American boxing? How much longer are Ken Hershmann, Richard Schaefer and Al Haymon willing to promote and disgust the sports world with this disgrace named Mayweather? How much longer will Haymon, Schaefer and Hershmann empower and use Mayweather as their moneymaking attraction? How many more crimes and shameful acts will Mayweather continue to commit before Haymon, Schaefer and Hershmann finally say, “That’s enough. Mayweather is a negative blot on boxing, he is polluting and discrediting our great sport of boxing and driving people away. It’s time, we have to sacrifice him to Manny Pacquiao and then move on.”

As Mayweather realizes that he has the protection of Haymon, Hershmann and Schaefer, who knows what else he will do or say next. And what further damage this deranged human being will inflict on the goodwill of the once noble sport of prizefighting.

It may be time for a massive world boycott of Floyd Mayweather, perhaps the most effective action to stop this fiend of boxing is to boycott his next fight vs. Miguel Cotto and cut off the revenues that Schaefer, Haymon and HBO expect to make off him. Once Mayweather can no longer generate revenues, his protectors will throw him to the wolves. Maybe that’s what boxing needs most of all…effective immediately, a global boycott of Floyd Mayweather in order to bring in the new era of talented boxing stars like Andre Ward, Tavoris Cloud, Seth Mitchell, Nonito Donaire, Guillermo Rigondeaux, Gamboa, Golovkin, Bute, Pirog. I repeat, Effective immediately.

Pretty Boy just throws racist sh*t to the wall and see if it sticks. If someone doesn't handle him in the ring, somebody in prison will.

He's just promoting his event, that's the only way he knows how to do advertising. He and we all now that the most talented basketball players are black, so it isn't about that, is about attention. Negative reactions are his best répertoire.

Doesn't matter Fib,,, there is no excuse for his demeaning behavior.. if he is SO great,,, he doesnt need this kind of behavior.. the great ones in the past didnt need it.
There is no excuse for this... needs to be taken down a peg... exactly why i just don't understand why Manny just doesnt kick his ass for the fun of it...
Or anyone for that matter...
Let me tell you... if a white person said this of a black athlete... we would have Sharpton, Jackson, and even Martin Luther King would rise from the grave to
condemn this act.... totally reverse discrimination... Blacks can insult,,, but you can't insult them...
I know a couple guys that played summer league ball with Lin here in LA... they say he is a super guy.
Floyd lost what little respect I had left for him.... Rom x called him a douche bag... i see him more as the aftermath!!!
Cotto has to KICK his ass!!! We are all depending on him!!

My point being,,,, we are all out there just trying our best to make a living.. doesnt matter who we are or where we came from...
Example:
There is a local mariachi band that plays around the surrounding Hispanic cities... they have one WHITE guy playing the violin
amongst the Mexican mariachi musicians...
Guess who gets a rousing reception from the predominantly Mexican crowd when the band plays???? The White guy!
Why? cuz he is trying!!! doesn't even speak spanish, but he has memorized his music routine.
That is all Lin is doing... he is just trying! As the Mexicans applaud the White mariachi player.. we should applaud Mr Lin.

I love him, been a knicks fan since Willie Reed, Frazier and Earl The Pearl. Can't mess with my team. We needed Lin and he came from nowhere to make us better. I'm learning mandarin.

Lin doesn't speak Mandarin Taiwanese and he has never been to Taiwan. I believe he relates as much about Taiwan as Blacks can relate to the people in Africa; which is about next to nothing. It is a shame when he has to carry and represent a race when all he wants is just to be a typical American boy. Lin's Asian ethnicity is bringing more interests to him and the NBA in particular.

The prejudice and stereotype of his race, I believe however, hindered him from getting a basketball scholarship despite leading his team to 32-1, state championship, and being state of California player of the year. This being said no Div 1 school offered him a scholarship (Pac 10 in specific) despite his accomplishments. NBA would never admit it but his ethnicity prevented teams from having a opened minded look at him even when he was right in front of their nose. Quite interesting that he was given a chance to start when the Knicks had no other options. He being the only Asian American in the NBA created NO interests whatsoever 2 weeks ago.

Point well taken fputs. I believe the same thing rings true of any race or nationality that is not Black when it comes to basketball.
It is a "Black" sport. Its tough breaking thru the "Black" basketball barrier.
Have seen many local White highschool "can't miss" players go on to college only to sit on the bench behind the Black players.
I think Lin went thru the same thing.
Willis Reed broke my heart Fib! don't remind me.

HOOP DU JOUR

Who ghosted Floyd Mayweather’s mindless tweet: “Jeremy Lin is a good player, but all the hype is because he’s Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don’t get the same praise.”
Dennis Rodman? Isiah Thomas? Charles Barkley? Shaquille O’Neal? Stephen A. Smith? Dan Le Batard? Mahmoud Ahmadinejad?
How soon before one and all call the Associated Press to claim responsibility?
That proves how impressively global Couching Tiger, Hidden Dragon has become. Like Michael Jordan, his gravitational force has pulled in the planet’s peripheral people. Regrettably, at least one name numbskull brandishes a warped viewpoint.

LIN-SANE: The NBA has embraced international players, such as the Raptors’ Jose Calderon (left), but the sudden ascension of the Knicks’ Jeremy Lin to superstar staus seems to rub some the wrong way, an example of bias against players from Ivy schools, says Peter Vecsey.

Somebody ought to break it unkindly to the punch drunk Mayweather that Toney Douglas, Mike Bibby and Iman Shumpert are black.
Do Derrick Rose, Jason Kidd, Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Rajon Rondo, Russell Westbrook and Tony Parker un-ring his bell?
The welterweight champ is just hating when he inarticulates it the way he did. In actuality, Lin is the Barack Obama of basketball. Due to his ethnicity and education, there needed to be a near catastrophe for the athletically unimposing 6-foot-3 guard to get a real run with his third NBA team since going undrafted in 2010, to get the shot that black and white playmakers regularly are given.
Think Lin would’ve gone undetected and unrewarded had he come straight to the pros from high school or after one year at a non-Ivy League college?
Had the Couching Tiger played 11 games as a Duke freshman, think pro coaches and executives would have judged him more for what he could do than what they perceived he couldn’t?
Indeed, I believe there was a bias crime committed here. But it’s not quite the misrepresentation being marketed by Mayweather. Today’s NBA, it appears, is the only place in the world a Harvard education works against you.
Here we have a league whose commissioner has bent over backwards to convince us the NBA is of international importance, whose teams for two decades have drafted players from anywhere and everywhere. These include specimens so obscure, their families are 50-50 to recognize them.
It turns out it’s the same NBA that apparently is so prejudicial its teams gave a “different” kid from a brainiac conference the back of their collective hands.
Hey, it’s not like the Halls of Ivy haven’t acquitted themselves in the association before.
See Bradley, Bill (Hall of Fame); LaRusso, Rudy; McMillian, Jim; Taylor, Brian; Dudley, Chris; and Petrie, Geoff, who is making personnel decisions for the Sacramento Kings — in Lin’s figurative (Palo Alto, Calif.) backyard.
