After suffering a multitude of debilitating injuries at the hands of Kane, Zack Ryder may soon be discarding his wheelchair, crutches, body cast, rib tape, neck stabilizer and arm slings.
Now that "The Big Red Machine" has moved to SmackDown, Ryder has extra incentive to leave the infirmary and get back into the ring.
There is no doubting the power of Ryder's miraculous healing powers, either, which may completely restore his health in time for a coveted spot on the WrestleMania card.
According to WrestleZone.com, a match between the Long Island native and Jack Swagger for the U.S. championship has been advertised for an upcoming Madison Square Garden house show on March 18.
Given the fact that the New York event will be taking place two weeks before WrestleMania 28—at a time when the performers are working out the kinks before the Miami extravaganza—it may indicate that Ryder will indeed wrestle on April 1.
Additionally, it would make sense for Ryder's opponent to be Swagger, the man to whom he lost his U.S. title in unremarkable fashion on an episode of RAW.
For Ryder, that championship isn't just any piece of tin, but a symbol of all the adversity he overcame in order to finally make a name for himself in the WWE.
If he were to regain the belt at WrestleMania, it would be the first step of many to rehabilitate Ryder's emasculated character.
Hopefully, it would mark a turning point for "The Long Island Iced-Z" superstar who still has a lot to give to the WWE universe.
