A major solar flare may affect satellite and TV/radio and cell phone communications world wide today and through the week end..

Have a look here.

http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/rt_plots/pro_3d.html

You will see the green line is way above the dotted line, this is a big one Boys and Girls, so be prepared.

You can also watch it on this video from the SOHO satellite in solar orbit, watch to the end, you will see the high energy particals hit the satellite.

No worries as the aircraft's metal skin will protect you. (some what)(I have my lead suit on)

You lucky guys up North are going to have some great Northern light shows this week.(as long as it doesn't get any bigger that is)

We will find out if we all don't have satellite TV tomorrow night.

And guys, I don't think aluminum is going to stop this one, if you still want kids, then get the lead jock strap out, (warm it up a bit first), but if you don't care or are too old to worry about kids, then pull up a lounge chair, break out the scotch, and watch the Northern light show tomorrow night. (dress warm)

NASA is a bit worried about the astronauts on the space station, they may have to sit this one out in their return space craft, or if it gets too bad, even have to come home.

Cooooool photos, you may need to use the long exposure setting, and a tripod.

Videos would be better.

I might setup for tomorrow night and see what I see.

There are lots of theories out there about what will be much more frequent activities on earth and above it.
The basic of it is that our solar system is passing through a magnetic field of sorts and there is a pole shift going on.

I have yet to read up more on this but there is a potential for big problems

I think its just a normal progression of the universe.....
In a "million years", it won't have made much difference....

It's really too bad that the LightSquared broadband satellite is out of comission; I had high hopes for them as a company.
