hi, I live in Bonnyville ,alberta. Has anyone been able to pick up some true FTA up here... I been on Sat Finder and tried doing some searching and testing but could not find anything. I have a 39 inch dish and standard LMB . Just looking to see if anybody this far north is able to catch some true FTA, if so ,what sat and alignment your using.

thanks in advance

IS your LNB a stannard or linuar ? You need a good linuar lnb........

39" should be able to pick up a few sats but as FJ said it must be a linear LNB.A 1.2 meter dish would work well if you can find a free one out there.

A 39 will get you gobs of sats where you is (I see you on the map). Throw out that lnb.

Depending on what stb he's planning to use, I would suggest an invacom quad for linear and circular if he wants to do dn and bev as well.

You know Paul, linear lnb would be cheaper but using the quad could save on another dish which would be required for the circular sats.

You will find a step by step instruction for either motorized or stationary

If you are planning to set up a motorized system herebelow:

hxxp://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Installation/HH-mount-installation.htm

and if you are planning to set up a stationary system:herebelow:

hxxp://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Installation/Satellite-Heading-Calculator.htm

and below you can find the sats available in yr area and dish size requirements

hxxp://www.dishpointer.com/

just replace the XX by TT

I noticed that you folks are pretty far North !!! Therefore the bigger the dish size the better,,,,,I would personally recommend a 120 cm or 4 ft dish minimum for yr area for true FTA and if you plan to use a motor,,,make sure it is the adequate motor size for yr dish size you can find info as per below:

hxxp://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Order/Motors/HH-Motors.htm

Let us know how it goes,,,,,

Good luck,,,,

Cheers,,,
