We've discovered the one thing that could possibly surpass Tebowmania in Denver: Peytonmania. Now that Peyton Manning will likely be wearing blue and orange in 2012, expectations for the Broncos are climbing through the roof. Some Las Vegas oddmakers have moved the Denver Broncos up to 10-1 odds to win Super Bowl XLVII, ranking them behind only Green Bay, New England and New Orleans.
Denver fans have reason to be excited, but the Broncos shouldn't be printing up Super Bowl tickets just yet.
On the surface, you would think that adding Manning to an 8-8 team would make that team into an 11-5 or 12-4 Super Bowl contender. Even if we think Manning is healthy enough to be a facsimile of the 2008-10 version, it's difficult to believe that the Broncos are truly a .500 team without him.
Despite slipping into the playoffs by winning a three-way tiebreaker at the top of the AFC West, the 2011 Broncos were not a good team. They were outscored by 81 points; based on simply points scored and allowed, the Broncos projected to be a 6-10 team. They finished 24th in the Football Outsiders DVOA ratings, and our "estimated wins" method, which projects wins based on performance in specific offense and defensive splits, has Denver at 7.3 wins.

Definite upgrade from Tebow, doesn't necessarily win them the Super Bowl but sure makes them contenders considering there good defense and great O line. GO BRONCOS GO.
How good are the Broncos now?
My guess is VERY GOOD and this is the begging,, soon to get even better.
Manning is 36 years old and I believe he has Max 4 years left, ... give or take, ..... given his neck condition
and I think he wants to finish his career as sucessfull as possible.
And the Broncos , wanna be the best team in the AFC ,,,
Should Be a good season ,, you know ESPN and SPORTS CENTRE reporters are gonna keep the Denver, Patriots
Comparisons going all season!

They will need to put everything together to get the most of Manning within the next 2 yrs.
If they are able to do that then they will be much better, if not then he alone won't turn them around.
He is the big piece in the middle of the puzzle, Tebow was a small piece in a big space.

How much better are the Broncos?...They just leapt into contender status...IF... and that`s a big IF.. that weak offensive line can bolster itself with some off season purchases to protect Manning. Unless I miss my guess Manning is gonna get hit a lot more than he`s used to...so whether his neck holds up only time will tell. Manning never reacted very well to getting smacked around a little so a lot of changing is going to have to happen in Mannings mental approach to the game not only his own numbers.

They should be good look at all the money they paid Manning . And what they did to New Orleans is a crime.

O line was one of there strongest areas last year with defense. Manning and a couple of more pieces and the Brocs get to an AFC Championship game.

Thanx Costactc...gotta admit to not watching a lot of the Broncos but during the playoffs the O line looked a little suspect between the guards. But that could be the "other guys" picking it up too. Manning as great as he is throwing the ball and being a field general is still suspect with that neck.........Myself I`d have gone after Matt Flynn.

Can't justify $24m for one solid game performance. Would like to see them draft Cousins from Michigan State to be Peyton's prodigee and pick up a few more players, still have $20m cap space.

Not basing his one game vs the Lions...Flynn would have been the #1 ranked Free Agent this year if not for the Manning story. That showing of Flynn vs the Lions although was a little over the top wasn`t a fluke...Flynn given the chance to play is going to be a very hungry dangerous QB since learning under Rogers and the Packers.....he`s 10 years younger, no injuries and a lot less money than taking the health risk that Manning brings with him. Next time around Matt Flynn will command a lot more money. But that`s just me.

my only concern is what happens when peyton gets his bell rung--after 4 neck surgerys lets hope they fixed his problem--should have kept tebow peyton would have been a good mentor
I am not that surprised Tebow was dealt ,, Elway was vocal about his "disapproval" of Tebow's play
there are plenty of back-up QB's out there .. Between , Elway , Manning , and a presumed well paid
scouting staff,, they'll get one in there ..
how about ,, andrew luck ??

I`m with terisagirl...not surprised in the least that Tebow was dealt. Elway couldn`t stand Tebow, that was clear. As for Manning tutoring Tebow...that wasn`t ever going to happen. First of all Tebow hasn`t got the tools to be a #1 in the NFL...aside from the Broncos success of last season and even then Tebow`s #s were a disaster, Tebow relied on "the big play" and to his credit he made some of them. Sustaining a drive??? forget it. Manning will do much better mentoring some kid out of college kinda like Green Bay did with Flynn and even Rogers for that matter.
I'm betting the Broncos have a better season than the Colts, Jets, or Saints.

I am a Broncos Fan and Elway to me was one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.. But I think it was a really bad move... Peyton is going to get hit and off to retirement...I still believe Tebow will learn the ropes and will be a good...(Maybe not great) but a good quarterback.......We will see.............

I tend to agree that Elway was the best that Denver will see in a long time.......But I wouldnt' count Manning out just yet..
