Set-up guide for 9500/9600HD
1. First you must download and unzip (extract) the XXXXX.pgm(.zip /.rar ) from the Files section.
2. Insert your Memory Stick in your PC and either transfer the extracted .pgm file from your computer
or you can extract it directly to your USB drive.
3. Insert the USB drive into your STB (either rear or front). If the STB doesn't recognize your flash drive,
make sure the drive is formatted FAT32.
4. In the Main Menu left click to INFO/UPGRADE. Scroll to SOFTWARE UPGRADE [select].
A new window opens with files. Select your pgm file and press OK. Your ILink will take over from here patience
is necessary as it will take several seconds to begin]

VERY IMPORTANT. DO NOT TURN THE POWER OFF
Let the receiver finish and reboot on its own!!!

5. In menu right click to SYSTEM SETUP. Scroll to Time Setting.
Set Time Mode to Auto. Set Time Adjustment to the GMT offset for your area
(-3:30 for Newfoundland, -4:00 for Atlantic, -5:00 for Eastern, -6:00 for Central, -7:00 for Mountain, -8:00 for
Pacific, -9:00 for Alaska, or -10:00 for Hawaii).
Set Summer Time to Off for Standard Time or On for Daylight Savings Time.
6. The following assumes you have put 119 on port #1 and 110 on port #2 and 129 to port #3.

MENU -- INSTALLATION -- ANTENNA SETUP
Scroll top line (RIGHT/LEFT arrow key) to EchoStar 7 119.0W
LNB Frequency ~ STANDARD (LEGACY LNB) or ("OCS-DP" for DISH PRO LNB) depends on what you have.
22KHz OFF
LNB Power AUTO
DiSEqc LNB1
Motor OFF (If none)
You should display EchoStar 7 119.0W in the top right of the display!!! If not, you don't have your ports setup
correct or your dish is not aimed correct.
Press “OK” to Save

DiSEqc LNB2
Motor OFF (If none)
You should display EchoStar 10 [110] in the top right of the display!!! If not, you don't have your ports setup
correct or your dish is not aimed correct.
Press “OK” to Save
Scroll top line (RIGHT/LEFT arrow key) to CEIL-2/Ku [129]

TP Frequency Set to 12355H21500
You should display EchoStar 129 West in the top right of the display!!! If not, you don't have your ports setup
correct or your dish is not aimed correct.

7. Channel Scan
Go to Antenna Setup
Set satellite to 119
Scroll to bottom [one click below “antenna positioning”]
Search Mode Click “search all”
Click “OK”
Click “start scan”
Let her rip ~ takes a couple and will auto save
Click “OK”
Change satellite to 110 and repeat
Change satellite to 129 and repeat
The 9600 scan is different than the 9500 instructions.
After you setup your sats with the proper info for your setup follows these instructions;
go to Menu -> Installation-> Satellite Search-> select your sat, hit ok-> (make sure you have the check marks) Start Scan, hit ok. Wait and will populate with your channels. Save and go for next sat, etc.

just to throw this out there: i was trying to get a 9500 working and actually saved a channel file from a scan on the new 9600 and uploaded it to the 9500 and no problems..
