How to create EPG for linux based FTA

Hi,

can anyone have ideas how to create EPG date for linux based fta ???
If i have TS recorder is it possible to get the stream and gather all data which you needed for EPG table or its something beyond that please any help or advice apperciated

Well the easy way is to look on the web for a guide. Next easiest is to use a box that does get a guide--say an old directv or dishnetwork or FTA box that does still do EPG. Or there are cheap usb receivers that I think can get you the guide off of the stream. Now, as to how you might do that yourself--you might want to pick up the old coolsat 4000 source code, it has all the info needed to get the info out of the DN stream--then you build some code to pull the info out of recorded data. But for all I know there are old programs from the N2 days that can take your recorded data and pull the info out for you. Never played with that end of things.
