okay thanks, i'll stick with my xfta thanks
You could start a project to figure out the wf enough to get it going. The project to get the boxes to spit out the rq-sssp info should have taught you guys that files can be modded and code figured out. The wf code could be modded to work--don't know if it would be easy, and you guys haven't done any testing to figure out how the wf works as far as I know--so if you want it running, you are going to have to do the work and figure it out. ie: start testing!
I have messed with it.
It is easier to just intercept the Weather Forecaster requests, send the request through a NEWCAMDCLIENT, like xx-client, and formulate a reply. I have done this before but I lost my source and logs. I don't remember what the response looks like to the Weather Forecaster. It isn't the same as the reply from the Weather Forecaster to the viewsat serial port, which is what xx-client sends.
If I ever get time again I will revisit it but it isn't something that interests me a great deal. I am satisfied with using a thin client, laptop or router with a USB to serial adaptor. And if there is a need to run the null cable a good distance, serial to rj45 adaptors can be used to run a null modem cable up to 100 feet.
here is the vs-sssp-client , hope it is helpful. I have wf sitting around somewhere.
