has anyone here had injections into the back for pain , I has wondering just how bad it is ? they want to knock me out to do this.

Well I've had bone marrow taken from my spine and it wasn't to pleasant.
They knocked me out and following two weeks I was on Percocets so wasn't that bad !
I used to get them years ago when I broke my back
I chose not to get knocked out for it
it hurt...lol
I had several of the so called "Procedures", it was developed back in WWII, by the Gestapo, they strapped me down after I took a swing at the Doctor the first time, (no one hurts me that bad without loosing some teeth) and after two shots of Demerol I didn't mind it.(till later)
If they want to do a "Disk-o-graphy" test before hand, I know a cave you can hide in.

You have a choice I highly recommend they put you out....Good luck.......
One way to keep from feeling the shots to the back is to put your big toe on a brick and smash it with a sledge hammer.
You will not feel the shots as your toe will hurt a little bit more then the back procedure.
vice grips on the testicles will do the trick.
I got the shots today , oh god did that hurt. he hit a nerve or something and it was like HELLO .they didn't knock me out just gave me something to make me feel really nice and mellow , I should know tonight how it feels .

I guess I was one of the lucky ones: I had a series of 6 shots; 2 in neck, 4 in lower back every 4 months for a year without any major problems. They used a local, Lidocaine, and ~ 5 minutes later, the epidurals.
My Exs (4) always said I did not have any feelings so maybe that is a good thing...
