I have a channel master rotor remote, I have been messing with the setup, and now notice I cannot get the rotor to move the antenna. i keep getting the the direction it is pointed in "196" then "Sync" followed by 60HZ, by HH1, after that, pressing up or down button to move antenna it just flashes three things above.
Also, anyone ever climb up to change the cable on one of these antennas? mine must be forty feet in the air, to chicken to climb up and change the cable. how do the pros do it?
At only 40 feet the pros would likely just climb up. If you need to climb a tower and need hands-free, you use a climbing harness--you can make one out of regular rope though climbing rope is lots safer, you do need at least one carabiner to clip onto the tower. Odds are you can pick up one--or everything you need--at a climbing store or sporting goods store. Google a little and you can get all the info about how to wrap a rope into a harness and use biners.
See if you can clear the memory with these settings.

I have had to climb towers. And I used to do some climbing and caving.
Hey Jvvh5897, how do we know where to aim our Antenna? I have a general idea based on locations of major channels, like Buffalo, toronto, but is there a specific direction, so ican get Rochester and Buffalo, I live near lake Ontario in between Toronto and Mississauga. for example I have one big older antenna where would i aim?

If it's on a tower then is an easy climb, (if you have done it before and have the right equipment) if it's on a mast then don't try it, get a pro to drop the mast down to where you can reach things.
Or you said your Cousin is an Arborist, if he has a bucket truck then do it that way.
Also if your changing things do the coax (new run all the way to the TV set) and baulin coil at the same time, it will improve things a bit with better coax, use the stuff for a satellite system, less signal loss to worry about.
If it is a 40 foot telescoping mast then it's a very tough job for one person.
I use to be able to do a 30 footer by my self, but when it came to a 40 footer I hired some help, dropping them down is easy, (actually sliding the sections down inside each other) getting them back up is the hard part.
I climbed TV towers for a few years,(in my younger crazy jr. engineer days) biggest one was in North Dakota at 2100 feet, but it had an elevator that ran three quarters of the way up, so that was cheating.Quote:
