For those of you who have a Sprint phone that is not locked out, there is a provider called Ringplus that has free plans. You will need a Sprint phone to use it through Ringplus on Sprint's native network. Pretty much every holiday they have another free plan. I have a line with 1000 min, 1000 text, and 1000 mb per month free. There are a few hoops to jump through but its a good deal if you are broke.
