Make sure you have a lock on the way before scanning.

What dish and LNB are you using? Using any switches? Post your settings in your satellite set up page for 129. A good TP to use to dial in 129 is 12516. The lock is separate from the quality reading. When you hit the sat correctly with all your settings correct you should get in addition to the quality reading a "lock" on the satellite. Some receivers will show this at the top or bottom of the screen with the work "locked." Other receivers may have a line at the top or bottom and it will be blank until you hit the satellite then it will show the satellite you are hitting when you hit it. I'm not familiar with this particular receiver but any of things should apply.
