bought an old sv-4000 at goodwill and it has firmware v02.76p

can't get biss to work with it.
did it come with a hub?
no hub and no remote.
the remote actually cost more than the receiver but can do 33 different receivers.
I add the sid and key no go then I add the vpid and key no go.
I hate to downgrade to factory if it doesn't do biss.
Don't have the SV4000 but seen the option in the SV8000 with a iHub file dating back to 2012. I recently been playing around with my SV360P and when I get a chance I'll see if has the option as well. Figure if both have the option then possibly the 4000 has it as well. Not familiar with the biss option but messed around with some of the others options back years ago with standalone files.
You select the channel you want to add biss on,the ones in the list already use an ecm pid of 001FFF for other sats/channels so I was following that example.Since you choose the channel, sid shouldn't be a factor. There are 2 channels that share keys ecm pids of 001FFF and there is a clash there.I can only add 1 channel at a time or I get the error "already exists".Mvidea had the same problem with biss,I had to edit key index to watch 1 channel at a time.On other brands sometimes a firmware update fixes 1 problem but screws something else up.With the correct keys I get the keys updating nag forever. The factory firmware doesn't have the 7890 option in the menu to get at the keys.
There are some svlan_14 files in the file section that may have the c*s menu option. There is also a system clean file that may have the option as well. I've seen some take regular files and rename them as a system clean file. Just a thought if you wanted to try one or the other of those out.
the lan file had the c stuff stripped out.I didn't try the clean file yet.
Now that you mention it seems like I remember them having to strip out some stuff with the SV4000 files because of file size. Been so long ago I could be wrong. The SV360P has the menu option as well but couldn't navigate the options inside the menu for some reason. Maybe a bad file load and or glitch. I'll be on the look out for some older files for the SV4000 and if I find anything I'll post. Sadly they are far an in between now. I have about all that ever came out for the 360P and several for the 8000 but none on file for the 4000.
the "clean" file was actually v2.75p which is 1 rev older than what I had.
All the other clean files on the net are identical to that.
Other receivers that went iks stripped out the old stuff also to make room, since most were only 2meg flash back then.
Biss emu varied from receiver to receiver back in the old days;some receivers you had to add the 00 and 01 index keys, others you didn't.
I went back to a standalone file dating back to around May of 2008 on the 360P and still could not pull up the biss option. Several other options in that menu but not the biss.
biss was always a low priority even tho it's an old encryption type.
More of a euro thing.
Just an fyi but I ran across some standalone files from years back for this stb if you are still in need or want to try some of them...let me know.
I would like to try old ones.
Eleven of the first from their release date (2007 & 2008) in the link below for the SV4000. Number 0180 to 0197...maybe you will find the biss option in one of these.
