How to hard reset

Finally got it to work on my xrs4500 but once in I cannot cursor down to factory reset. It says to use the volume buttons but they don't work.

I use the down arrow button

None of the buttons respond, waiting on a new remote.

did you test remote with camera?
also make sure you're close because remote is in IR mode

Remote failed poorly. I have been having remote issues for quite some time.
