I have the XR4000 Buzz TV box. I would take it back to the shop i bought it from once a year where he would make sure it was updated, clean it up and renew my service contract. This was done once a year but the gentlemen that did this just recently passed away. Is there anyone in the Charleston, SC. area that can do this or is this something i could do myself?

Absolutely something you can do yourself, without leaving your house.Lots of help here.Your only decision will be renewing your present service or chosing a new one.
Glad you made it over from the other site.Noof is right. There was never any need to take your buzz box anywhere Renewals can be done remotely.
If you post the url that is in your server settings we can figure out what service you had
you might have some issues renewing if your mac addy is locked to a server
