Been a while, tell me about dreamlink

Hey everybody!
Been a while since I visited these forums!
Last time I was here IKS was all the rage. You bought your STB and they ran the server farms, you got sweet tv watchin' as part of the deal!
I've been subbed to an IPTV service and I'm generally happy with it, but I want to know why dreamlink seems to be the box of choice? What can it do better than any other kitkat?
I'm just watching on a single HD smart TV, so I don't need anything ultra-4k fancy.
Was also considering an nvidia shield because of the gaming.
