Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning monarch in British history and Canada's head of state, has died.
The Queen, 96, died on Thursday in her Scottish residence, Balmoral Castle, alongside several members of the Royal Family, including Charles who is next in line to ascend to the throne. The Royal Family made the announcement in a Twitter post Thursday.
R.I.P to her ,, she was a classy lady and a compliment to the monarchy
I wonder if the British will make the crowning of the king
a public broadcast event .. it's never been seen by the world
and, if it's as grand as the weddings ,,, it's gonna be something to witness
probably even grander than the weddings
I always liked the monarchy but I'm afraid it will not be the same with Charles as King. It has slowly been falling out of favour.
All my life we had the Queen's portrait in schools, on stamps, on coins, etc. I guess now the Commonwealth countries will have to change everything to King Charles III.

I met the queen mom at the Woodbine race track in Toronto at one of the Annual Queen Plates
she would have been not 10 yards away from where I was standing
I remember her as a 5 ft tall "smiling at everyone", "wrist twisting" little lady
fearless, cause she was walking around the grounds and stands mingling with the commoners
she did have a secret service detail, but they let her walk around as they stood far enough not to block her socializing

I don't know much about parliament who will be taking over as King or Queen.It would have been great for Lady Diana to be queen.I miss her
