I have the mag boxes so I use the MAC address with my service, I guess they call that "STALKER" am I right?
so I do have an Andriod tv box, What service do I use for that or call it?
Is it M3u or whatever or is it a playlist? I didn't understand what a playlist does for you.
Any help would be appreciated
Stalker/Mac connections rely on the MAC address of the box or player you are using, this isn't restricted to MAG's Buzztv's, Formuler's, Tivimate, Implayer all have the ability to use MAC/Stalker based connections. Mag's are not capable of using XC or M3U based IPTV services though only players such as the ones mentioned above to name a couple are capable of that. Just to reiterate though an Android box is not the only means to play certain playlists either, Apple Tv's, Windows, Mac books etc, mobile phones all are capable it just depends on the player.
For generic android box if you want the same look&feel as you MAG, you can always load STBemu app onto them. You can find a copy of the "pro" version in a sticky at the top the IPTV Server topic thread.
However other than STBEmu, on an android box you have a few options. Some of the popular one are IPTV Smarters (available on many platforms). I am not a fan of the UI, but some people like it. On Android, IPTV Smarters can use both XC or M3U.
There is also Tivimate. It seems to be the preferred one for many generic android boxes. Has one of the nicest interfaces for generic android software. I believe it supports MAC/XC and M3U (with the latest versions). But it is not free. There is a yearly sub or lifetime sub that needs to be purchased.
I personally prefer the BuzzTV 5 software which is only available on BuzzTV boxes. I find it has the nicest UI, great support when needed, and it supports MAC/XC and M3U.
Typically when you have a server that offers M3U, they often have XC also (which is my opinion should be preferred). Nice thing about XC/M3U is that many of the servers (not all) allow more than 1 simultaneous connection when using these methods.
