The Human race is spared again.
Well another BIG one just misses us, sometime last week (or so) we had a big solar flare that caused the Northern lights to be seen well South of the Canadian boarder.
The one yesterday was even bigger, had the green line gone above the dotted line we might have been knocked back into the stone age.

Larger solar flares like this can knock out satellites and other electronic devices, basically anything with a transistor, they can even knock out the AC power grid.
