Open tray message

ok im havin trouble with my xbox360 elite i dont know if its the dvd rom thats broken or i jus have 2 clean out the lens everytime i insert a game like call of duty modern warfare 2 and other games keeps sayin open tray so i unplug my xbox i only took out the faceplate and the hardrive and give it a blow and plugged it back in worked then after couple of hours open tray message

how do i fix that message? and i do not want to send it back to microsoft i dont wanna pay whatever they charge me plz help me

it means the lens is failing on your xbox try to take the game out, unplug it wait 1 min then try again until it boots.

depending on the model, there are replacement lasers for sale on deal extreme. why don't you rip it apart, clean the lens and dvd drive, and see if that fixes it. if not, order a replacement lens off them. free shipping, i love it.
