I haven't had a chance to test yet. Is there a noticable improvement in picture quality on the h.265 channels?

I see no difference than the other channels
Bandwidth major true statement, picture quality a touch better.
some channels are missing ex CBC Montreal on this list that are streaming h265 . Is the h265 upgrade still ongoing or is it finished now.

Can anyone test the delay on h265 sports chs? What's the delay compare to live game on OTA or radio?
Emporium, I own an old S805 dongle (MK808B Plus), its printed on it H265, but when I use the default player ljk, it shows black screen on those MTL channels, but when I switch to external player (MX) it works perfectly for a couple of minutes then switches back to the staker menu. That seems to tell me that the android dongle hardware seems to handle the H265, and maybe my issue is setting the ljk player correctly. Anyone else with same problem? Thanks
By the way, I even contemplated switching to the OK2.apk as you suggested, but it is a hassle as I will need a user name and password, and my current reseller have retired....
You know i put StB emu on mag256 And it runs great.. better then using mag 254
The MK808B Plus as far as I read is not an S805 based unit, it is an M805 based unit (mobile version of the S805). I could be wrong, but from a quick google seach, I saw everywhere M805. Even though the specs are similar for s805 and m805, I am wondering where they cut corners to get the power savings.. Already the S805 h265 support is limited to 1080p (which is fine), but it never really tells us at what bitrate or profiles are supported. Bitrate and profile is very important, since it raises the processing requirements, and the cpu may not be able to handle it. So if they lowered clock speed or any other restrictions, it will affect the ability.
Excluding the few days that the h265 channels had issues, if you continue to experience the same issues, I suspect that the cpu may not be able to keep up with the stream. I don't have any s805/m805 units to test and confirm. MX player is always my goto player for anything, since I find it is the best compromise for efficiency and compatibility. But it is not perfect either.
Maybe someone else with an S805 or M805 based unit can chime in here.
I also no longer use STB emulation, so can't verify that either. I've switched to m3u username/password for my boxes.
Ya, some custom ROMS, leave out some required libraries, or use some that are not 100% compatible with the *exact* hardware. Typically it is not an issue when they are built, since people rarely use the full features of a new device. But as technology catches up (like h265 in this case), then the drawbacks become apparent, for corners that were cut.
Using the apk on firetvstick, but not getting any video...changed the decoder to native already..just getting the loading icon, then ends up going red. Just did speedtest getting 30MB down so bandwidth shouldnt be an issue
