Is anyone else not getting channel 229 CTV Ottawa?
Doesn't scan in on my jynkbox or dreamlink t4
that is strange as I don't see why we wouldn't get ctv ottawa
Well, I made a stupid mistake last night. I hadn't read this thread in awhile so I factory reset my Junxbox because I was trying to fix a network connection issue. I lost all my channels (obviously) and now half the TPs on 91 won't scan, just say SKIP as others have said. No matter how many times I try to do a manual scan.
Can someone who has 91 fully working on their Junxbox please upload a channel list file in the appropriate section and link it here? Thank you.
Okay, I did a bunch of experimentation tonight on the Junxbox because I had some free time. This assumes you already have all the right frequencies, changed everything to 21500 TURBO, and you get a blue/green signal intensity/quality lock after a few seconds when you go to the TP in the list - but still, if you auto scan, half or more of them just say SKIP.
First of all, no matter how many times you manual scan a TP, it's never going to work, I think. I tried 10 times each on about 8 different TPs, and never got a single lock.
However... If you just keep doing an auto scan over and over on 91, you might have some luck like I did. I'm not talking once or twice, I'm talking a dozen times or more. I also had "Network Search" on, no idea if it makes a difference. Each time you do a scan it adds to your existing channels anything new it has found, it doesn't remove the old ones.
Which TPs it locks on to in a given scan seems to be up to completely random chance.
You're going to probably feel like an absolute fool like I did when doing this, but I am 100% serious when I say this worked for me.
I kept some notes of which TPs came in on each scan, and what the TV channel total was for that scan pass, so I could easily see if what I was doing was changing anything, and it was. I recommend you do the same so you feel slightly less insane.
Here are my notes. This information is useless to you unless you are just curious.
PASS 1 2,4,8,11,13,14,17,19,22,24,26,28,30,33 (forgot total)
PASS 2: 2,4,6,11,13,14,16,20,22,24,26,29,31,33 TOTAL 252
PASS 3: 2,4,6,8,10,12,13,14,16,20,23,25,28,30,33 TOTAL 288
PASS 4: 2,6,8,13,14,17,22,24,26,31,33 TOTAL 179
PASS 5: 2,4,6,8,12,13,14,18,20,22,26,28,30,32,33 TOTAL 287
PASS 6: 3,5,7,10,12,13,14,19, - AND then the damn box randomly rebooted itself lol
PASS 7: 2,5,8,10,12,13,14,18,20,23,26,28,30,33 TOTAL I forgot to look at it but it was about 240?
PASS 8: 2,8,10,13,14,17,19,21,23,25,27,31,33 TOTAL 236
PASS 9: 11,13,14,16,18,21,23,26,28,33 TOTAL 186
[At this point I am beginning to cancel the scan whenever I get above 15, because the only missing TPs are 1,3,7,9, and 15.]
PASS 10: 2,4,6,13,14 CANCEL
PASS 11: 2,11,13,14 CANCEL
PASS 12: 2,10,12,13,14 CANCEL
PASS 13: 3,5,10,13,14 CANCEL
PASS 14: 4,7,9,11,13,14 CANCEL
PASS 15: 7,11,13,14 CANCEL
PASS 16: 3,5,7,10,13,1 CANCEL
By Pass 16, I got tired of doing it. I am still missing TP 1 (12224V) and TP 15 (12474H). I remember there never being anything on TP1 I think, but I don't know about 15.
I can tune in all the channels I have scanned in, but some of them do take awhile to tune in, they even say no signal for about 10 seconds before finally getting a lock, and then they are stable.
My educated guess as to what's happening, at least for me, is that the signal from some of the TPs is marginal, and it's taking the box too long to get a lock on them when scanning. Sometimes it just happens to get a lock a bit faster on some of the ones it missed last time, and that's why they randomly start working. Also explains why it takes awhile to tune the channels, and also if you look at the TP in the list it takes a good 5-10 seconds to show the good SQ/intensity. I have no idea why this just started happening to a bunch of people recently, though, when it worked fine for a good while.
Let me know if this works for you. If it doesn't, I'm sorry for wasting half an hour of your day.
Yup, going through a very similar experience.
I know that you mean.... took me 4 tries and then magically a few missing channels were added. It seems to be a slightly different result every single scan.
do you have the option to scan a tp individually?
I too made the mistake of deleting all channels on an original Jynxbox lite. I too ran into the "SKIP" problem.
I remember back in the day scanning I think old SD Viewsats. You had to scan certain TPs and sometimes site on a channel then continue to scan. I was like the box was discovering or building the "channel map".
I think the same thing applies here but you may have to do an auto scan in the JB? Just thinking out loud here. You may do well st sit on the channels that do scan and try again.
I will give it a whirl in a few days maybe Sunday if I find time.
Yesterday I scrubbed my Junxbox channels and started all over again.
As blackjack posted, you will need to re-scan 91w several times to get a full channel list. For me it was 5 attempts to get everything that seems possible to obtain at this point.
You will get random OK and SKIP each time, but eventually you can get nearly every transponder scanned in. It is helpful to keep a scorecard to check off when you get an "OK" on each transponder number, almost like playing Bingo, lol.
I ended up with very similar results to blackjacks results...... I cannot get TP1 and I think it was TP15 even after multiple scans.
82w seems to scan perfectly in 1 try.
