DxDiag ("DirectX Diagnostics") is a diagnostics tool used to test DirectX functionality and troubleshoot video- or sound-related hardware problems. DirectX Diagnostic can save xml or text files with the scan results. This file is often requested by support professionals as a way to diagnose and troubleshoot problems with DirectX. Solution:
To obtain a DxDiag log:
Windows 7/8/8.1:
- On the Start menu (Windows), click Run.
- In the Run dialog box, enter DXDIAG.
- In the DirectX Diagnostic Tool dialog box, choose Save All Information..., click Save.
- In the Save As dialog box, make sure that the file type is (.TXT).
- Enter a name for the file. Click Save.
