I've got a Bel sub with a regular Bel dish and in the Toronto area the signal strength has jumped substantially
TP 02 (WPIX) I lost signal frequently, use to be 53%, now it's 86%
TP 25 (Discovery) was around 83% now it's 94%
TP 30 (KTLA) was around 55% previously, now it's 83%
I hate spot beams, almost as much as scraping and stretching beaver pelts ;)
lost all tp's on 91w nimiq 1. 18" dtv single lnb, azbox premium plus. im about 75 nw of allentown,pa(should be in the footprint according to the beam maps i've looked at...). will i need to resort to a bigger dish or just a re-aim? anyone have any tp's for nimiq 6 yet or are they the same as what they were on nimiq 1? would like to try to get it back, but have also read it is now all turbo 8psk(bummer for me as i have dvb-s2 8psk....)? any truth to this or just another rumor?
Try looking at the foot print for 82W, it is supposed to be the same.

still within the footprint(using the 82w map)....have to re-aim & see if that helps, if not i guess i'm going to have to try a bigger dish....? are the transponders the same nimiq6 & nimiq1?
Transponders are the same, see post #27 on page 2 of this thread for a list.
ok thank you very much. i guess i'll have to try a re-aim and if nothing else i have a superdish i can try.... i'll let you know how it goes when i figure out when i'll attempt this as its been flirting with 100 degrees for a couple days here...to hot to be out in the sun for me! maybe tomorrow night....?
According to the link above, they also list Nimiq6. When you switch to the footprint for Nimiq6 one line goes about 50 -60 miles north of Phila., is this signal representation for a 18" dish?
In other words I don't see a degrading set of signal lines with decremented eirp levels. Is the line represented above a ABSOLUTE signal cutoff point?

If the shielding worked as designed, then the signal would stop right at the US Canadian border. but it doesn't, and there is spill over, how far this spill over goes is best guess, as Bell doesn't send trucks into the US to do the measurements.
And in some cases there is an unwanted signal bounce off the shield, this could be picked up in areas far from the designed footprint, were? only time will tell.

Today (Friday) I managed to scan and find a few here on the PA-MD border. I haven't made a list (but will). I got a bunch of the Dv channels; maybe all of the Venus (all dicks-all the time) channels.
The sig level is pretty low. It seems that 12428 is the strongest. No actual reception yet.
Located 200 miles southwest of Chicago I have Q=0 on all N6 transponders. What's interesting is I have a lock on all N4 transponders with a Q of 56 to 72 using my 36"X39" offset dish. The N6 footprint is definitely much tighter.
Checking with a couple of snowbirds one a hundred miles north of me with a 36" dish and the other 60 miles east of me with a 6ft dish. Both have Bev subs with Bev stbs. They also have Q=0 on all N6 transponders. So, the footprint cutoff appears to be very sharp.

I'm near Sioux Falls South Dakota and I can get 55% quality on a 39 inch dish for 82. I noticed that my quality on 91 is 0 now though.
Last week the Nimiq1 Veb sat located @ 91 was replaced by Nimiq6. A few factors occurred with this upgrade.
Tighter footprint to the Canadian border and higher output power and alot (if not all soon) of xpndrs going to 21500/SR, Auto or 2/3 FEC, and T8PSK modulation.
As you may have read in other posts most people in the Mid to southern US have lost 91 all together now.
I did my first dish upgrade in NYC, NY.
I upgraded from a single LNB 18" dish pointed @ 91 to the 33" dish pictured below.
I'm only using two LNB's just for 82 and 91, out of curiosity I may try to load all four 82,91,110,and 119.
But I centered the dish on 91 for max signal gain.
It works fine with the new Nimiq6 sat from NYC, NY.

What is the max signal level you got for 91? I will try my 36"x39" dish with motor.

sorry, I meant in NYC area
located 180 mi se of Chi town. Scaned 585 channels on nimiq6 with Dream Link and dish 100.2 with no switches. Added the dpp44 with power and only got 188 channels:frown: Get 91 on the 100.2 better than 82 on a dish500. Hope this helps. Got upgrade (33X30) coming next week to combine the 2.

i used to take miniq 1 91 west now thier is no signal at all from nyc , any help please or what kind of dish i'll need to get miniq1 91 west
A larger dish will help, some have had to use as large as a 39" dish.
The new satellite at 91W (Nimiq 6) now has a tighter beam then the old one, they moved the signal closer to the Canadian border, so if your still within the new footprint but in one of the lower signal areas a bigger dish would/could help.
If you take a look at the link below, and zoom in on the NYC area you will see that the new footprint is just above NYC, clicking on the edje of the footprint shows that at least a 30" dish would be needed, but there are no guarantees if a 39" dish will work at your location.
