if you scan now you will only get a couple of them.so if you scan after 8 you will get more..hope this helps
mlb network IS A CHANNEL ...I HAVE ALL OF THOSE CHANNELS (EXTRA INNING
I have those channels already (have eleven of those) ...they are for extra innings....the one i talk before is mlb network...its a channel likie nhl network or nfl network who run 24/7....I CANT SCAN THIS CHANNEL ....
Dryden is correct. This is not a timing issue like Sports package channels such as NHL center ice or MLB Extra Innings.
The issue is that it seems like FTA receivers cannot scan transponder 12530 V on 82w for whatever reason.
With sports package channels, you can still successfully scan the transponder but the channel will not scan in, unless you time it when it's active.
Well, that is odd. I was wondering if it could be internal RFI. My TV and satellite box are right next to each other and when I have box on, my OTA ch3 is un-watchable--it is not a strong signal and analog (still). Many of these FTA boxes do generate lots of digital noise at RF frequencies and they could interfer with tuner inside the box I suppose.
I suppose that the code used to control the tuner chip is not quite correct for all the TP. I assume that the Broadcom chip used for FTA is the same used for prov box, so they should be able to do anything a prov box can.
Hum....I wonder if they could have modified the packets that the scan uses to find programs on the TP--the tuner would lock into TP but not find the channels on it. Hum...but if you don't get lock in the first place, then the turbo FEC might be the issue. I just took a look at the channel list of jynxbox udf and posted a dump of the channels I found and pulled out the TP and Sat data from it and as I recall the 82 degree sat showed a mix of standard TP and Turbo FEC as well as a mix of mpeg2 and mpeg4--it might be that they used an oddball mix of systems that your FTA boxes can't deal with. The thread was:

You might want to see if the channel is in the data I posted and maybe use the python code to pull out TP/Sat data from that box's udf.
Some of what you said is over my head but here is what I can confirm.
The TP 12530 will not lock as you mentioned.
Some testing has been done away from any provider equipment (and also WIFI equipment) to try to eliminate interference.
82 does have a mix of TPs (standard and Turbo) but I think almost all of them are Turbo. TP 15 is missing and I think 14 or 16 is standard. All others are Turbo.
Other than 15(missing) and 22 (which is 12530) all other TP's scan in properly, including that one standard one.
I know none of this helps us get any further in explaining what's going on, but I'm just trying to make the testing facts more clear for smarter people than I to understand what has been tested so far.
Thank you!
If you would like to try to test whether internal RFI might be the issue, try wrapping a sheet of aluminum foil between cardboard or plastic film just to make sure that the AL foil never contacts anything inside the box. Then hang the sheet between the tuner and the rest of the motherboard inside the cover of the box. Maybe a couple of tabs of cardboard that you tape to box cover. Might not do anything but restrict airflow inside the box, but might do something else.
That old udf file that I looked at had the following info for 82 degree 12530:
00 00 80 01 28 dc 0a 02 00 01 08 f2 2b f2 2b 32 00 00 10 00 08 f2 2b f2 2b 00 00
24 82 degrees, sw setting = 50 Nimiq 4
00 58 80 01 0d f2 30 fc 53 20 10 00 00 7a 00 01 01
22 24 12530 21500 Turbo FEC mpeg4 V
01 58 80 --starting three bytes of ch entry
goes to 0d 58 80
so 14 channels--all HD
BUT none of them are MLB Extra innings--I see those on other TP. I might check the James Uplink site to see if it shows any on TP22 82 degrees--though I'm not sure if that is a satellite on that list.
No data for 82 at uplink. Did find a list at satbeams, but it was from 2009.
Just to be clear, the channel of interest by someone else earlier in this thread is MLB Network which is different than Extra Innings (SID 1420). As you already mentioned there are also other channels on that TP. My focus is only to find out why it wont scan.
For a list of current channels on this TP, someone could go look at the BellSRDU site. hxxp://bellsrdu.ca/en/sales_channel_lp.php
Thank for for all the info! When I have some extra time, I will definitely fool around with some of your suggestions.
