Looks like I've gotta take a break from this issue. Windy today, winter blast after that. Early next week again I hope. I have an IPTV service so I still have tv, not quite as reliable though. Thanks everyone for now.
It would be good if you know of someone with an iks setup that you could try your stb in to confirm/eliminate it as the problem. Is that an option for you?
Went up on the roof yesterday but had no luck. May have to read instructions on fancy new sat finder. Pulled module and no or bad signal is gone. Snow today, maybe the weekend.
have you gone to dishpointer dot com yet ? if not then I suggest you do that "FIRST" to be able to properly aim "YOUR DISH"
It will "SHOW YOU" where to point from "Your Exact Location"
You have to get your dish pointed & locked on to the sat or sats you want to hit, before you do anything else
Very windy today. Tomorrow and going up for sure. Got a helper here with me. Gonna work on it till it works.
OK, set dish to sat pointer specs, did minor adjustments, nothing. On the dreamlink, signal bounces from 0 to 21 no matter the small adj. Only thing left is lnbs, but I'm not buying new ones so I guess that's it.
would you be able to get your hands on a older Bell receiver, they work way better for Dish pointing, and will lock on to
sat. (91/82) much easier than the T5 for pointing etc. You would hook up direct (no switches etc.) to 91 first for max signal
and depending on what dish setup you have (20" dish-500 with legacy LNB's) it would be a matter of (rotating/twisting-skew) the
Dish for 82. do you know what type of LNB's you have ? (legacy, dish pro, dishpro/plus) because the dish-pro & dish-pro/plus have
a built-in switch, which you have to account for in receiver dish settings setup.
You're in a tough spot now because you don't know if it's a hardware issue, or simply aiming the dish. You have disturbed the dish aim now,so you're staring from ground zero.If there's someone you trust to send your DL to that has a functioning system, I would try that.At least you can confim/eliminate the state of the DL itself. If it's good, you're down to dish aim/cabling/switches/lnbs.I have no idea where you live but I'm willing to help if I can.
I am willing to test your T5 on my setup just to rule out that it's not a receiver or hardware problem etc.
If you are willing to send it to me, willing to do Free of $$. If interested send a P.M. and we can work out something
If he happens to be in the Windsor/Essex County area, I will also do that for him to rule out the receiver issue.
I've been helped here many times so it's no probs to help out another member.
And I'm just south of Owen Sound ON.
Auggie is far closer than I.
I'M in BC, If you are willing to send the unit (T5) To me I will test it out on my system (I am currently using a T5 )
That way you/we will no if it's the receiver or not, if it needs a HD module, I have some if needed
All this at "NO COST TO YOU" other than the shipping cost to send it to me. So if still interested in doing this send a P.M.
And we will "GET-ER DONE"
You're a good man Auggie...you remind me of me.lol.
Anyone want a dreamlink ? I set up dish to sat pointer specs and made small adjustments, nothing. Hooked up old bell receiver, adjust adjust, adjust, got 90 signal once, when I walked away, it was gone never to be seen again. I give up. I want to thank everyone for there input and encouragement. I know when I'm beat.
I'll take it on if you want someone a little closer to you for shipping, your choice with Noof or myself
either way you are in good hands with us, we will test it out and let you know if receiver-hardware or something else.
Thanks Auggie
As in post #62 you are more than welcome to get it checked out
I'm done. I'm too old to climb up on the roof. I injured a rib last time. That's all. It's been a slice. Thanks again everyone. Anyone close to edmonton can come and pick up the dreamlink for free.
I am not certain if this problem fits this slot or not but I am experiencing a weird situation with a T5 on '91. The S&Q bars are red when I select sat setting but I am receiving most channels???? This should not be. I also have lost Foxnews on 1507 (just noticed that this morning) and attempted the possible fixes provided on another thread but no luck. Does anyone have an explanation regarding the red signal & quality bars but still receiving channels. There has been frequent brief freezes for the past couple of days and I thought it may have been due to a server problem. Now I think the T5 may be having weird problems instead. Thanks
Noticed the changes also. Bell is moving channels to different transponders. Do not change anything till they are finish moving things to there final location. It maybe a few weeks till they stop moving things around. Till then watch what you have.
Im on a Jynxbox and have 80% signal on all channels but no fox on "91" so its not just me losing fox.
I am also having red signal on 91w certain transponders and hooked up my backup D5 and same issues , 501, 507 and 522 and more are bad signal. Transponder on 91w 1,2,3,4,5,6.. are all red now so I believe this is a issue with the 91 sat moving things around. So I guess we wait.. Good morning Auggie .....
dig out that old 2700 and j-tag it to bev....use one eye at a time to find the bird....its the best receiver to catch a signal....no delay when u first hit the sweet spot....cheers...
